Alix feels a thudding pain coming from her face. Her groggily opens her eyes. The sudden stinging of ocean water rushing in makes her instinctively close them. She replays the scene of a large marble like thing slamming into her face in her mind. She rubbed her face and found that her mask had come off.
'That hurt like hell.' She grumbled within her mind. 'Who knew Risky Business was so tough?' Alix had long since noticed that she was fighting Vance and Rasque. How could she not, it wasn't like it had been longer than a week since she saw them?
Though it did surprise her that they didn't recognize her. She'd spent the majority of her time at the school with them. Her outfit must be concealing her identity better than she thought.
Now, I'm sure your questioning by the point, 'If she knows who she's fighting then why is she even fighting them?' Or maybe you thought that question then instantly retracted it because you know that Alix likes testing her new things on whoever is the closest to her.
If you did that then good because that was exactly what was happening currently. There was also the fact that those douchebag royal knights tried to stab Nuka but the main reason was so that Alix could test this new form!
She didn't fully understand why she'd transformed within the lighthouse and she would surely do a deep dive on it later but for now...
'I've played around enough. It's time to put those knights in their place for what they did to Nuka then I'll end things!' Alix readjusted her gloves before lighting the bottoms of her feet aflame and launching herself through the water. She swam under for a few feet while using Nuka's now violet heart string as a guide until it was directly above her.
She rose out of the water with a splash. She gasped for air as she had been under for quite a while. She looked overhead and saw the planks of the dock hiding her resurfacing. She could see shadows and bright flashes of light from the open between the planks.
'Nuka!"
'Allie! You're okay! Great because these guys started all attacking at the same time after you went under and haven't let up since!" Nuka complained though she didn't sound to be too troubled by the situation.
'I apologize for leaving you on your own. Can you discern my position?"
'Yup, your right under me. What about it?" Alix grinned beneath the docks.
'Get the two knights over this exact spot. I've got a surprise for them." Nuke mentally acknowledged Alix's plan.
'What about the other two?"
'Try to keep them within arms length. I know them and it would be quite awkward if I injured them greatly today. Though if you can't get them away from the blast radius that is also fine."
'Alright, sis! Starting the reverse pitfall operation!" Nuka cried into the sky as she started to manuever around the two armored fighters. When she got close the older knight tried to take a swing at her.
"You've gotten predictable bird!" He shouted while swing his blade. Just as the blade was about to hit its mark, Nuka instantly shrank back to the size of a hawk making the sword whistle through the air.
"What in the-What the hell was that!!" Nuka then lit her wings aflame and dove between the older knights legs. She flew up his back and slapped the back of his head with her wing. He winced as his helmet clattered to the ground.
"Ouch! That damned bird is toying with us!"
"Umm, general?"
"What is it, boy?" The younger knight point to the top of his companions head wide-eyed.
"Your helmet's been knocked off and your hairs on fire!" The man tilted his head confused before feeling intense heat on his head. His eyes went wide as he started screaming and panicking.
"AhH! My hair! It-its burning! Someone help! Boy do something!!"
"The water general! Jump in the water!" The boy said just before Nuka then flew behind him and rammed into his back shoving him into his senior officer. Both men clambered to the ground with their armor making a lot of ruckus as they clanged together.
Vance and Rasque stood to the side with their heads tilted and brows creased. "What in the world is happening right now?" Vance questioned.
"I think he was right? That bird's toying with them." Rasque responded. They looked at each other still confused then back to the scene in front of them. When they looked back they saw Nuka flying at them now still in her smaller form. Their eyes went hard as they stood battle ready and even spread apart slightly so that they would both be hit by anything.
The moment Nuka got close to them her body started to grow and became engufled by flames but she didn't regain her original size. Instead the fire took on a more humanoid form as Nuka's body transformed into that of teenage girl while still flying at Vance and Rasque at high speeds.
"What the-" Vance began to say before he was kicked by Nuka into that hole in the docks behind him. Rasque snapped out of her confusion a second too late as Nuka twisted on one leg and kick Rasque in after.
"Woah!!" Vance shouted as he and Rasque splashed into the water. The resurfaced even more confused than before.
"Did that bird just turn into a person?" Vance asked.
"You saw what I saw."
"Monsters can't do that!"
"No they can not." Vance was hysterical while Rasque responded robotically. They were both handling this confusing situation differently. Which is why it took them so long to finally notice Alix Ren floating a few feet away from them donned in the armor of the princess knight that they were fighting.
"Good job Nuka." Alix announced aloud. Green flames started sparking to life on her body and her eyes began glowing their mysterious green and violet color.
"Now it's my turn!" Alix's wings spread out and ignited even in the water. She placed both of her hands on the bottom of the dock focusing all of her energy in the one spot. The fire licked the wood and spread beneath the dock like...well like fire to drywood.
Then, in one powerful push, Alix unleashed a giant wave of Lis out and burst through the planks in a pillar of the green flames. The two knights that were still struggling over her head screamed as the docks sudden broke apart beneath them.
"WAAAAAHHHH!!" Their voices broke as screamed in horror from the surprise attack. Alisa rushed back around with Mo in her arms right at that moment. The two stared at the massive pillar of green fire in amazement.
"Woah, that looks so beautiful! Like a mini Blaze but in a straight line instead of an orb like shape. And coming from the sea instead of looking down from the sky. Also green instead of orange...or yellow? What color is the Blaze?" Alisa started to ramble as she normally did.
Mo, on the other hand, smiled brightly at the scene. He activated his connect with Alix and called out to her.
'That's quite the sight, Lexi. But was it really necessary?" Alix was shocked to hear Mo's voice for a moment before a warm smile replaced the look of shock.
'He's okay.' She thought to herself before responding to Mo. 'You already know that everything I do is necessary. Why else would I do it?" Mo let out a heartly chuckle when he heard the girl's response.
'You're right! What was I thinkin'?" The pillar of flame persisted for a few moments longer gaining the attention of the entire city. The flames everywhere else had died down by this point so the sudden emergence of the large pillar frightened several of the citizens.
Meanwhile on the docks, Dandelion looked up at the pillar mesmerized.
"It's beautiful, ain't it?"
"Yeah." Dandelion answered before she realized someone had talked to her. She looked toward the owner of the voice and saw Kent sitting up with a pleased look on his face.
"That's probably my mother. She's a bit of an eccentric spellcaster so she tends to get pretty intense when it comes to spellcasting." Kent met Dandelion's eyes. The girl was filled with relief.
"You're okay..." She said shakily as she felt tears welling up in her eyes.
"Hold on! So the captain gets such a heartwarming display while I'm just laying on my back like a beached whale?" Dandelion looked up and saw Colson standing over her grinning. "Well I guess it makes sense. It's been longer since we've seen him than I'd like to admit."
"So you were the 'third person' that holiday was talking about. Makes sense, you probably said something like, 'Knights always help those in danger!' and rushed here when you were really worried about little ole' me!" Colson scoffed at Kent's rather spot on assumption.
"I did no such thing!"
"Are we just going to ignore the fact that Kent just said 'his mother' when we all know that he's an orphan?"
Eric also sat up at this moment. However, unlike everyone else he wasn't looking at the sky. His gaze was focused on the glowing wound on his stomach. His fist clenched so tightly that his hand bled. He thought back to all of the faces that he saw in the flames. Back to the way that he'd gotten this cursed brand in the first place.
Eric was overcome with a suffocating feeling of shame and guilt. Yeah...
While everyone else was feeling relief and satisfaction and pain, for the two knights that were in the attack. Eric was overcome with shame and guilt.
A pair of feeling so suffocating to him that he didn't even notice the Djinns slip away. He was just...trapped in his own guilty conscious.
