Chapter 306 - Chapter 306: The Spirit Hall Squad That Delivered Itself

Chapter 306: The Spirit Hall Squad That Delivered Itself

Because of the intense resentment the Blue Silver King held at the moment of death—coupled with its extremely high cultivation—Tang San indeed had to expend quite a bit of effort to absorb its soul ring.

But no matter what, the Blue Silver King's bloodline could never compare to that of the Blue Silver Emperor.

In the blink of an eye, half a day had passed. Dusk approached, and the setting sun cast its warm glow across the forest that was on the verge of becoming barren.

With a loud roar, the final lingering will of the Blue Silver King was completely erased.

Tang San, satisfied, released his Blue Silver Emperor martial soul. In addition to the seven soul rings he already possessed, a new black soul ring now appeared—this one particularly deep and tinted faintly with red, clearly different from the other three ten-thousand-year soul rings he previously had.

Feeling the transformation of his soul power, a proud smile crept across Tang San's lips.

Besides absorbing the soul ring, he had also essentially drained the life energy of the entire Blue Silver Forest. That act alone propelled his soul power directly to the peak of level 83.

And that wasn't the end.

After finishing with the soul ring, Tang San began searching the corpse of the Blue Silver King.

The higher a soul beast's cultivation, the greater the chance it would produce a soul bone.

Spirit Hall had spent over a thousand years researching this and eventually discovered this rule. After a few minor edits by Yu Xiaogang, it became part of his so-called "invincible theory" and was passed on to his beloved disciple, Tang San.

The poor Blue Silver King—not only slain by the royal bloodline it had loyally served its whole life, but even its remains couldn't be preserved.

Half of its body had been dissected by Tang San, revealing a glowing, crystalline blue left leg bone.

When the soul bone appeared, Tang San's grin became so crooked it could've challenged the Smiling Dragon King himself.

For a soul master, absorbing both the soul ring and soul bone from the same soul beast yielded the best results.

This Blue Silver King was second only to Tang San's mother—the Blue Silver Emperor—when it came to compatibility with his martial soul. Considering all factors, aside from being unable to produce two separate soul skills, this left leg bone's value was practically on par with a hundred-thousand-year soul bone.

Tang San didn't hesitate and began absorbing the Blue Silver King's soul bone.

Soul bone absorption was much quicker than soul ring absorption. In less than half an hour, it was done, and his soul power rose from level 83 to level 84.

"Hm?"

Just as he finished absorbing the soul bone, Tang San suddenly opened his eyes, frowning slightly.

"Someone's coming?"

Swish, swish, swish!

Before the words even left his lips, over a dozen figures had rapidly arrived before him.

Tang San's expression immediately turned cold as he saw them.

These people were not uniformly dressed—some wore yellow robes, others purple, and two wore pitch-black cloaks. But all of them bore the same insignia: embroidered in gold on their left shoulder were the two characters Wu Hun (Spirit Hall), with a golden sword embroidered between them.

People from the Spirit Empire!

Unlike in the original story, where Tang San and the other Shrek Seven Monsters underwent closed-door training on Sea God Island, things were different this time. Because of that old bastard Sea God meddling in mainland affairs, Sea God Island had been drawn into the conflict. The guardians of the sacred pillars had even taken turns traveling to the continent to back the Star Luo Empire and the Clear Sky Sect, which meant Tang San was well aware of the shifting political landscape during his training.

"Who are you, and why are you here?"

The leading black-robed bishop among them stared at Tang San, his voice deep and cautious.

The Blue Silver Forest was within the territory of the Spirit Empire. Since Tang San had nearly drained the life out of the entire forest, massive signs of decay had begun to emerge within half a day.

Upon detecting this anomaly, the Spirit Empire had dispatched this squad to investigate.

Tang San didn't answer. He simply stared at the group in front of him with a gaze full of disdain. With his current strength, he could clearly assess their power.

Among the dozen or so people, the strongest was the black-robed bishop who had spoken to him. His soul power was around level 74 to 75. The other black-robed bishop hadn't even broken through to Soul Saint, his power stuck at the peak of level 69. Judging by his age, he probably wouldn't reach the Soul Saint realm in this lifetime.

As for the rest—the purple-robed bishops and yellow-robed deacons—they weren't even worth mentioning. Only two of them had soul power above level 50.

Seeing that Tang San didn't respond, the black-robed bishop grew angry. With his rank, unless he stood inside the great hall of Spirit City itself, he was used to being respected wherever he went.

"I asked you a question! Are you mute? What happened he—"

Before he could finish, a strand of Blue Silver Grass silently shot forth from in front of him. With a soft pfft, it pierced through his chest.

The black-robed bishop stared blankly at his chest, seemingly in disbelief. He raised a trembling finger at Tang San, his eyes filled with shock and incomprehension.

"To think a so-called Soul Saint-level black-robed bishop could be so foolish. Confronted with a potential enemy, you didn't even prepare to defend yourself."

Tang San's eyes glinted with mockery. With a slight wave of his hand, the sharp-edged Blue Silver Grass retracted from the bishop's chest, trailing a spray of blood that splashed across the already withered land, staining it crimson.

The bishop's eyes remained wide open as he collapsed backward, dying with no peace in his heart.

"Bastard!"

The sudden turn of events left the other Spirit Empire soul masters frozen. But after a moment of stunned silence, a wave of fury swept over them. A black-robed bishop had just been slain right in front of their eyes—if they didn't act, they would surely face punishment upon returning.

"Take him down!"

The other black-robed bishop, a Soul Emperor, shouted in rage. At this point, they had no choice but to apprehend the killer and try to mitigate their failure.

All of the soul masters released their martial souls. Rings of white, yellow, purple, and black emerged in dazzling display. It was a flashy sight—if nothing else.

"Overestimating yourselves."

A trace of cold amusement flashed across the mouth of Tang San—now the God-King of the Tang Sect. His Blue Silver Emperor martial soul surged forth. One by one, eight soul rings materialized: yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black.

The immense pressure of a Soul Douluo instantly descended on the dozen soul masters, suppressing them completely.

"Run!"

The black-robed bishop with Soul Emperor cultivation froze the moment he saw Tang San's eight soul rings. Without hesitation, he spun around and bolted in the opposite direction.

With just the few of them—even if that Soul Saint-level bishop were still alive—they wouldn't have stood a chance against a Soul Douluo.

The rest of the soul masters also realized the hopelessness of the situation and frantically turned to flee.

"Trying to run? Too late!"

Tang San's sixth soul ring lit up. From all directions, countless Blue Silver Grass strands imbued with slaughter intent erupted like swords. The escaping soul masters were instantly skewered, turned into human sieves.
