The next morning came early. Zhou Cuilan had already prepared breakfast, while Lin Dashan was exercising in the yard.
"Mom, you're up so early," Lin Feng said. "Why didn't you sleep a bit longer?"
Zhou Cuilan chuckled. "When you get older, you don't need as much sleep. I can't seem to sleep in anymore. Your second uncle is being discharged from the hospital today. We're heading over to help in a bit. Are you coming?"
"I'll go to the hospital after I drop Xiaobao off at school."
Zhou Cuilan served the food and cheerfully called for Xiaobao to wake up. Even though she was such a big girl, Zhou Cuilan doted on her, calling her 'my little treasure' one moment and 'my little cutie' the next, her voice full of sweet endearment.
Xiaobao yawned. "Grandma, I want to wear that white dress. Could you get it for me?"
