The dining hall had become my personal hell. Every evening, I was summoned to serve the nobles their wine and food, knowing full well that they had turned my suffering into their twisted entertainment. Tonight was no different, except the cruelty seemed to grow worse with each passing day.
"Ah, here comes our favorite little troublemaker," Lord Marcus announced loudly as I entered carrying a heavy tray of wine goblets. His voice carried across the entire hall, causing conversations to halt and all eyes to turn toward me.
My hands trembled slightly, but I forced myself to keep walking. The weight of their stares felt like physical blows, each gaze filled with contempt and anticipation of whatever fresh humiliation they had planned.
"Careful with that tray," Lady Catherine called out mockingly. "We wouldn't want you to cause another disaster, would we?"
