After Yunyi finished eating, she first went to see Commander Zhan, who had already been transferred to the ward, to make sure he was okay, only then did she leave the ward amidst the repeated thanks of the family.
When she left the hospital, Director Guo personally escorted her to the door, offering repeated thanks before allowing them to board the jeep sent by the troops to pick them up.
Upon learning that Yunyi had previously been a doctor at the Workers' Hospital, Director Guo was tempted to invite her to work at the military hospital.
But recalling what Commissar Hong had said earlier, he swallowed his words and settled for asking, "Comrade Chu, if the hospital encounters difficult patients in the future, may we ask for your help?"
Yunyi knew that if the doctor who could perform the surgery hadn't gone back home for a funeral, and the city's experts hadn't happened to be called away to a seminar, today's incident wouldn't have occurred. Still, she replied, "Of course."
