Chapter 17 - A slight come up

"Alright, I think I am fully losing my mind," James said, his hand on his face. Randomly, Jonathan throws up a green sludge; the terrible-smelling sludge oozes through the ground and disappears within seconds. Kymani, James, and Toby looked at Jonathan, then at the ground, with disgust. "I don't even think I wanna know," Kymani said, walking away. "Yeah, that's for the best," Clayden exclaimed. "So, crazy idea here we find a camp," Clayden says, shrugging. "Yeah, I think that'd be smart, it seems the sun is going down," James said, looking at the sun as it ever so approaches the horizon. "So where are we going to set up camp?" James asked, Toby shrugged, and pointed to the river. "Oh no, I am not trying to see mother again, that fat shit was too fast, it's like if an o-lineman could run a 4.4 40 yard dash," Jonathan exclaimed with worry on his face. "I get your concern, but we have no choice, and it'll be for one night," Kymani responded to Jonathan. "I'm gonna die on this island," Jonathan whispered, walking away to gather materials. The rest of the boys looked at each other and gave each other assignments to try to get a small temporary camp together. Night quickly approaching Kymani was trying to start a fire having no luck. James was trying to build a stick fort, and Toby was forging the old camp for extra things with Clayden. Jonathan was probably throwing up somewhere.

"Cartoons lied to me. How the hell is this smacking a rock against another rock supposed to work?" Kymani remarked. "You need a flint," James replied, "what, like the shit from Minecraft?" Kymani asked, dumbfounded. James just looked at him with an unpleasant look on his face, "Just, you do the fort, ill figure out the fire," he exclaimed. Kymani nodded and gave him a double thumbs-up. Soon, Clayden and Toby came back with a torn tarp, rope, the unfinished map Clayden started, plastic bottles, a metal butter knife, and a stick. "What was the point of the stick?" James asked, Toby looked at Clayden with a smirk, "It looks like a gun." Clayden responded with a childish tone. "Fucking sick dude," Kymani exclaimed, suddenly a hand grabbed onto Clayden, a screech only described as a girl scream, exited his mouth. Looking down, it was Jonathan who crawled back to the camp holding a stick with a leaf, "i found a stick with a leaf that looks like Kanye". "Ayeee, that's the shit," Kymani declared, dabbing him up. "You guys are fucking stupid," James stated, throwing up his hands, as his hands descended the rocks clashed at just the right angle, creating sparks lighting the fire. "ME MAKE FIRE," James shouted, "yeah, we are the stupid ones," Kymani said, chuckling to Toby, who just looked at him with a blank stare.

The sun was in its final minutes before setting, the boys hurried setting up the camp, rainproofing the fort with the tarp, taking the plastic bottles and filling them up with water. Kymani took straight sticks and started to make spears using the butter knife, though hard and grooling, it worked. The sun finally set, and the crackling of the fire and crickets filled the ears of the boys, now equipped with sharpish spears. They kept a lookout for anything that alarmed them, though nothing came, no skinwalkers, no dad, no mother. It was too quiet, they didnt even feel like they were being watched, the boys fell asleep one at a time, first James, then Clayden, then Kymani. All that was left were Toby and Jonathan, "Why us?" Jonathan questioned, and Toby just kept looking at the fire. "Why are we the ones who got the hard route? I'd even take having a quick death like the people on the cruise," he exclaimed in frustration. "I know we are making the most out of it, but how long do you think we'll be able to keep this up? It's only a matter of time before some stupid shit kills us." Tears ran down his cheek, Toby reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder, patting his shoulder a couple of times he then smiled. Jonathan, feeling comforted, wiped his tears and nodded his head, "we'll find a way," he stated. The night continued, and all of them fell asleep, soundly they slept with no interruptions.

Morning arose, and Clayden woke up first, walking over to the river, he washed his face, in the distanced he saw a small furry animal. His eyes lit up, "Destroyer?" he ran over to the dog-like animal, and it was him, full of joy; he jumped up and down. He petted the destroyer and looked above and saw a beached yacht. "Oh my," he ran to get the guys, "GUYS GUYS, you gotta come see this," he exclaimed excitedly. The others just followed slowly, they then laid their eyes on the beached yacht, "See, exciting, right?" Clayden said. They made their way down to the beach to examine the boat. "Aye, you think there is a bad bitch in there?" Kymani commented to James, "Who's your mother?" he responded and raised an eyebrow, "not cool, man." Kyamni said, "I'm sorry, bro, it was just there for the taking." James claimed. The boys made their ways to the back and climbed on the yacht, their eyes caught by a have rotted skeleton with a backpack. "There is your bad bitch Kymani," James jokingly said, chuckling a little. Kymani walked over and grabbed the backpack, sliding it off the slimy, decomposing body. Gagging, he brought it back to the guys. "I ain't opening that shit, that's all you g" Jonathan said, backing up. The others followed his lead and backed up, "y'all some pussies" he exclaimed, opening the backpack. On top of other useful items, the item that caught their eyes was a flare gun loaded with one flare.
