Chapter 58 - DAY 6 - DARK ECHOES

In the digital world, countless screens flicker to life, projecting the ongoing chaos across Doom Planet. Taeo leans forward, studying the displays as he says, "As we speak, our beacons of light are creating a path for Rose and her team to reach the sun. Once they arrive, Rose will destroy the main source of the darkness with the gathered sun power."

The screens show Stars enveloped in radiant auras, clashing against waves of dark monsters. Every time a dark monster falls, the path forward lights up, inch by inch, a fragile corridor of hope cutting through the void.

Gilga steps closer, concern etched on his face. "Gathering the sun's power won't be easy. The outer darkness shield around the planet is the toughest layer yet. Rose will also need time to absorb the Sun's energy, and we'll need every ounce of light we can muster to break through it."

Gaia nods. "Me and Gilga are already working on a machine capable of producing half of her power. Combine that with the collective light from everyone else, and it should be enough to punch the first hole. Thanks to the resources we gathered from the dungeon and samples from Huego's sun energy, this is finally possible."

Taeo clasps his hands together, resolute. "Everyone else around the world is still fighting! My new sun drones are monitoring two major conflicts at this very moment. We cannot let anyone's effort go to waste."

Everyone straightens, determination igniting in their eyes.

Meanwhile, in Taeo City, Yuri works tirelessly in his lab with the Cyan Spark engineers. Sparks fly as he finishes crafting a torch radiating the pure power of sun and light. Beside it, a glowing chainsaw blade hums with the same energy.

One Cyan Spark worker approaches. "Cross-DNA with the Crimson Flare—success!"

Yuri leaps in excitement. "The sky people are giving everything they got to save our world. We must match their efforts! We will fight alongside them!"

Cheers erupt across the lab. Yuri opens a box containing purple blood samples. "Thanks to the successful DNA integration with the Crimson Flare, I can now pilot my very own Mecha suit. And we've upgraded it to be even stronger!"

The Mecha core roars to life as Yuri slots in the purple blood sample. The suit seals around him, the glowing torch latching onto its back while the chainsaw blade integrates seamlessly with its systems.

He lifts the blade high. A surge of light courses through the lab, and the Cyan Spark engineers erupt in a cheer even louder than before.

Yuri grins beneath his helmet. "Now, we fight!"

In the spirit realm, Ignis dives headfirst into a web of shadowy threads. Each strand hisses and shrivels as his flames burn them away.

He pushes forward until the darkness vanishes beneath him—revealing a black sea, its surface rippling with countless writhing arms. Towering pillars of darkness rise from the waters, reaching to drag him under.

Ignis roars, voice echoing through the abyss.

"I'm here, Boa!!!"

He unleashes two massive blasts of fire, twin suns in the void. The waves of arms ignite, the whole spirit sea blazing orange and yellow as light tears through the gloom.

Ignis dives deeper, past collapsing arms and unraveling webs, until the dark waters swallow him. He burns through the suffocating pressure, and at last, he sees it—a faint yellow sphere glowing far below. Without much hesitation, he plunges into it.

The world twists. Ignis emerges inside a vast prison of shadow. Endless rows of cells line the walls, their bars rattling with Dark monsters shrieking to be freed. The air is thick, crushing, the cries gnawing at his resolve.

Still, Ignis forces his way through, shouting,

"Boa! Where are you?! Your people still need you!"

A faint glow catches his eye—a single cell pulsing with weak yellow light. He rushes toward it, but the Dark monsters breaks out of their cells and blocks his path. Dark monsters ooze from the broken cells, forming an army of twisted shapes.

Ignis ignites, his flames flaring brighter with each step. He swings, kicks, and burns through them, waves of fire carving a path. The swarm surges to overwhelm him. He roars defiantly:

"I'll always burn brighter than darkness itself!"

A firestorm erupts around him, spinning into a colossal tornado that sweeps up the monsters. The swirling inferno consumes them all, lighting the prison in a violent blaze.

When the flames fade, Ignis stands before the glowing cell. He melts the bars away, revealing a younger Boa curled in the corner, clutching a sphere of light against his chest.

Ignis kneels, his flames casting a warm glow.

"You've done well, Boa. You held on, even with little honor left.....The roles are now reversed. I'm here to save you."

Boa lifts his head. The orange light washes over him, his spirit form reforming, aura raging like a storm as he slowly rises.

Ignis offers his hand. Boa takes it. Their auras flare together, orange fire weaving with yellow lightning.

"Ignis…" Boa's voice is steady again.

Ignis grins wide.

"Let's get out of here and rejoin the others."

But Boa shakes his head.

"Not yet. We fight here first. Just like we did against the Blaze Dragon. If we strike down the King's spirit inside this realm, the others will have an easier fight outside."

Ignis's grin grows sharper.

"Oh yeah. I remember now. Let's do it again!"

The prison shatters into pitch-black night. In the distance looms a shadow castle, its gates yawning open. An army of armored dark knights marches out, their footsteps shaking the realm.

Boa's spirit arms crackle with lightning as they lash out, countless hands ready to strike. Ignis erupts in molten fire, his aura blazing hotter than ever.

Together, they charge.

The army of darkness meets the fire and thunder head-on.

In the blackened ocean, Jen rides atop the dire wolf, its massive paws slamming against the water's surface as if the sea itself were solid ground. Every step sends ripples across the abyss.

Dark monsters surge upward, breaking the waves. Jen's twin daggers blaze orange and yellow as she slashes in a whirlwind of steel and light, cutting them down before they can close in.

Beneath the surface, Tomi rides atop Melon, the colossal whale. A shimmering bubble of air surrounds his head, keeping him steady as Melon dodges lunging dark creatures with graceful sweeps of his tail. Tomi steadies his umbrella, and with a shout, it fires a beam of grey energy like a cannon, ripping through clusters of monsters and scattering their shadows.

From the ocean split, the chasm rises a colossal cocoon of writhing darkness, dozens of monsters piling onto it as if feeding their King.

Jen urges the dire wolf downward. They leap into the gaping fissure, walls of water towering around them. Dark creatures pour from the watery cliffs, but Jen twists midair, her wolf spinning with her. Her daggers flash—slashes too fast to follow—ripping apart every monster that dares lunge.

From the opposite wall, Melon bursts free with Tomi on his back. The whale barrels through, his momentum shattering enemies like waves against stone. Together, they crash onto the ocean floor.

Melon lets out a thunderous roar, a soundwave so powerful it shakes the seafloor. The shockwave hurls the monsters back into the water walls. For a moment, the abyss is clear.

Then the cocoon ruptures.

Darkness explodes outward as the King emerges. His armor drips with writhing black slime, his crown corroded with shadow. In his hand gleams a massive sword of darkness. He roars, releasing a torrent of energy that rips across the seafloor like a tidal wave.

"Hold on!" Tomi leaps onto the dire wolf behind Jen. He snaps open his umbrella, its shield of energy cutting a path through the darkness. His laughter rings wildly as the umbrella absorbs the storm.

Jen narrows her eyes, calm and focused. She throws both daggers, and they whirl through the void like blazing comets. They pierce the King's sides, glowing bright as their orange and yellow light spreads across his armor, halting his attack.

The King staggers, growling.

Melon roars again, his orange rune-armor bursting apart. The pieces hover in the water, snapping together with arcs of yellow lightning. The fragments form a radiant dome around the battlefield, sealing them inside a glowing arena. The water walls slam back further, keeping the horde of monsters at bay.

The King clutches the daggers, hissing. The blades corrode black, melting away into slime.

Jen summons another set of glowing weapons, the dire wolf lunging forward. The King swings his massive sword, waves of shadow slicing at them. The wolf dodges, bounding side to side as Jen prepares to strike.

Tomi leaps clear, flipping into the air as he scatters hundreds of colorful magic balloons. They inflate instantly, drifting and spinning around the King.

The dire wolf uses them as cover, weaving through the bright cloud. The King growls, slashing furiously. Balloons burst with every strike, each one exploding into clouds of shimmering dust—laughing gas.

The King chokes, coughing violently. From his mouth spill writhing black worms, shriveling as the gas eats through them.

The dire wolf pounces, jaws clamping into his shoulder, tearing a chunk of darkness away. Jen slashes across his chest, crossing her blades. A brilliant orange-yellow X sears across his armor, glowing like molten fire.

The King roars, staggering back as the light burns deeper into him.

One of Tomi's balloons bursts in front of the King, filling the air with glittering smoke. From the haze, Tomi steps forward with a glowing magic deck of cards.

He lifts the first card, voice booming through the water.

"Six of Swords!"

Six radiant blades appear around the King, stabbing inward from every angle. The King roars as the glowing swords pierce through his armor.

Tomi whirls the deck, pulling another card.

"The Hanged Man!"

A rope of grey energy coils around the King's ankle, snapping tight before yanking him upside down. His massive body dangles in the air like a caught beast.

Tomi grins wildly, drawing again.

"Knight of Pentacles!"

A glowing pentacle forms beneath the dire wolf, pulsing with power. The sigil propels the wolf and Jen upward in a surge of orange and yellow aura. Jen launches off, spinning through the air.

Her twin daggers blaze with orange, yellow, and streaks of grey. She slashes across the King in a storm of strikes, cutting him again and again, glowing trails carving through his armor as lots of dark worms comes off of from armor.

The King lets out a guttural roar. His body bursts into writhing webs of darkness that whip outward like strings. The tendrils lash into Jen and the dire wolf, binding them in place.

Before she can react, the King swings his massive dark blade downward. The strike cleaves straight through the dire wolf, splitting it in half. The beast explodes into a blinding flash of light that shakes the seafloor.

"NO!" Jen's scream as her partner vanishes.

The King advances, shadow sword raised, darkness pouring from his form.

Tomi slams another card down.

"The Lovers!"

A luminous bond wraps around Jen, pulling her back in a flash just before the sword falls. She stumbles into Tomi's arms, landing beside him as the magic fades.

She steadies herself, her eyes blazing with fury.

The King roars, rushing at them with overwhelming dark aura. The ground itself trembles around him. Jen raises her daggers. Tomi closes his umbrella like a sword.

The three forces collide.

Steel and shadow clash, sparks of light bursting through the abyss as Jen and Tomi parry the King's relentless blade strikes. Each blow shakes the ocean floor, their auras flaring bright against the suffocating dark.

Suddenly, twin rays of yellow and orange light burst from the King's chest, searing through the darkness. The blast stuns him mid-strike.

"Now!" Tomi shouts.

He and Jen slash together—daggers and umbrella cutting across the corrupted monarch. The combined strike sends the King crashing across the battlefield, smashing into the arena orange wall in a surge of colorful waves.

Meanwhile, in the spirit realm…

Boa and Ignis storm through the shadowed halls of the castle.

Boa hurls a spear of crackling lightning. Ignis follows with a blazing orb of fire. Their powers fuse midair, crashing into the King seated upon his throne. The explosion rips the chamber apart in a storm of flames and thunder.

From the smoke, the King rises—his blade of darkness in hand, his voice a guttural growl.

"I must… become God!"

Boa's aura erupts. He summons his spiritual avatar, a towering giant wreathed in golden lightning and raging orange fire. Its massive form shatters the castle walls with each sword strike.

In answer, the King conjures his own skeleton avatar, a monstrous titan of bone and black flames. It too crushes the ruins around them with it's blade of darkness, its eye sockets burning with malice.

The air shakes as the two colossal avatars raise their spiritual swords.

The spirit realm quakes—lightning, fire, and darkness exploding outward in waves as Boa and the King begin their ultimate clash.

Meanwhile, Crank's body convulses on the ground. His eyes snap open—pitch black. A guttural scream tears from his throat as dark worms burst out of his skin, lashing around like writhing tentacles. The nearby animals panic, scattering as he slashes wildly at them, unable to control himself.

"GhhhaaAAAHHHHH!" Crank howls, clutching his head, his voice fractured between agony and rage.

He staggers, then lifts his gaze toward the blazing orange sun overhead. The light sears him, yet his corrupted spirit rejects it. His form twists and warps, transforming into a dark centaur spirit, his body cloaked in black flame. A monstrous bow materializes in his hands, shadows pooling into an arrow.

With a snarl, Crank draws and fires. The dark arrow screams through the air, aimed straight for the orange sun.

But before it can strike—

A silver arc cuts through the air. Vel appears in a flash, her sword slicing the arrow in two. The split projectile detonates into a wave of dark energy, the shockwave ripping across the village. Vel crashes to the ground, her blade planted firm, eyes locked on Crank.

She exhales, steady and fearless.

"I knew it… you'd wake up corrupted just as we all feared."

Vel raises her sword, with bits of orange aura flaring.

"While everyone else is busy fighting their battles… I'll be the one to face you."

The centaur's hollow black eyes fix on her. The corrupted Crank lets out another distorted scream—and the duel begins.
