After a quick scroll, Yan Anle felt a bit dizzy and tripped.

"Young Master!" Dou E reacted quickly, catching him just before his head hit the wooden railing.

"Thank you, Dou E." Yan Anle appreciated her timely intervention.

"There is no need for thanks, Young Master. It is my duty," she responded.

Pan Ting probed, her tone dripping with concern, "Mr. Yan, are you alright?"

Fu Tan was no less worried. "Mr. Yan, are you hurt?"

"I'm fine. I was just lost in thought and tripped," he told them.

For the remainder of the climb, they all paid even closer attention to him, each for their own reasons. Meanwhile, he watched his footing while inwardly interacting with the system.

'Myriad Worlds, why are there so many?'

[Myriad Worlds]: [Host, those are the minimum. You can even create custom rules of your own.]

'Just scrolling through these gives me a headache. There are literally 999! So deliberate!'

[Myriad Worlds] argued, her tone sounding a bit wronged, [Host, you don't possibly think this feature is unimportant, right?]

'Hey, I never said that,' was his retort. 'I can tell each one is meaningful. It's just... going through them one by one is a daunting task. I don't want to spend time on such details before establishing my Foundation and gaining some much-needed lifespan. Take that diluted Heaven's Tears Potion, for example—I can't even use it yet.'

'Wasting time on rules when I don't know if I'll wake up tomorrow is a bit... besides, what do these settings mean? Switch, Strictness, and Penalty?'

[Myriad Worlds] answered a few seconds later, [Host, I understand your concerns. I can assure you that your body currently has no hidden injuries or ailments. As for the rules, I can help you make automatic adjustments that you can change later when you have the leisure to look at things closely. How about that?]

'You can do that?' His eyes lit up. 'Whew! That's good! Thank you! After I reach Foundation Establishment, I promise I'll look over everything carefully!'

[Myriad Worlds] told him, [There is no need for thanks, Host. This is within my capabilities and obligations. As for the settings: "Switch" refers to whether the restriction is active—On or Off. That should be easy to grasp.]

'It is.'

[Myriad Worlds]: ["Strictness" dictates how strictly the rule is enforced, ranging from 1 to 10. At level 10, even the mere intention to break a rule may trigger the restriction. It shows '0' when a rule is disabled.]

'Just the intention? Isn't that unreasonable? Wouldn't it be better to wait until someone actually violates a rule to apprehend them? They could argue we are targeting them.'

[Myriad Worlds] countered, [What if they intend to harm or kill another customer?]

Yan Anle: 'Uh...'

She added, [What if they want to steal or destroy something valuable? Or set a trap to tarnish the Auction House's reputation?]

Yan Anle had to concede. 'I suppose that makes sense. While it's an extreme measure, certain rules may require it.'

[Myriad Worlds]: [The "Penalty" section follows the same ten-level rating. The higher the value, the greater the punishment. The lowest might be a simple warning, while the worst-case scenario could be imprisonment and agonizing torture for the duration of a Zenith Heaven Immortal's lifespan—making them wish for the mercy of death.]

'What is a Zenith Heaven Immortal? They sound formidable. Surely their lifespan is at least a few million years?'

[Myriad Worlds] enlightened him, [Zenith Heaven Immortals living up to seventy million years is common. The longest in my records lived for seventy-two million years before perishing.]

The transmigrator's brows twitched. 'What a very "mild" punishment!'

[Myriad Worlds] actually agreed, missing the sarcasm. [Right? It's a shame I am only an Imperial System. I wish such violators could continue to face retribution even in future reincarnations.]

Yan Anle felt his mouth go dry. He made a vow then and there: even if he spat in the face of the King of Hell, he would never slight his system. No, not just Myriad Worlds, but all systems! Their way of thinking was truly "special."

[Myriad Worlds]: [So, Host, you understand the mechanics now?]

'Yes, I do.' He nodded inwardly. 'Can you make the arrangements for me? Especially the one regarding who can use the spatial gate to enter the Secret Realm.'

[Myriad Worlds]: [Yes, Host. Here is the rule. While you review it, I will alter the rest to an advisable degree.]

'Thank you, Myriad Worlds!'

[Myriad Worlds]: [You're welcome!]

Shortly, the screen scrolled automatically, stopping on a specific rule.

---

69: Spatial Gate Usage Restriction: Restrict those who can utilize your private spatial gate to access the mobile Secret Realm. Restrictions may be placed by race, gender, cultivation base, and more. Note: Those whose cultivation base exceeds the limit cannot be allowed in even if you wish. Switch: Off. Strictness: 0. Penalty: 0.

---

After some deliberation, he cranked both the Spatial Gate Usage Restriction's Strictness and Penalty values to 6; neither high nor low.

As for the 'fancy stuff' like specifying race and gender, he did not bother.

'Fairness to all.' He thought.

Just then, the Myriad Worlds Auction House system told him, [Right, Host, just so you know, once you turn a Rule on, it will cost you 1 Mid-grade Spirit Stone per 20 Hours of activation.]
