Chapter 16 - CHAPTER 15:-Walking The Chosen Path

Arvyan came looking for me with concern into the washroom, only to find me looking at my reflection while touching my face. He spoke out, "Are you okay? You acted strangely right now outside there." I assured him that I was doing alright while splashing water on my face."Enough with chit-chat, let's get going, we dont want to be in any trouble again." I said this while walking towards the classroom, as he was following me. All the classes were conducted smoothly after that, and the hectic day came to an end.

We took a local rover on our way to the apartment. Arvyan asked me while sitting beside me, "Hey, wasn't the day weird? Like we had too many exercises, and Tairo was the least affected by those exercises? Was he always that strong and had that much endurance?" to which I responded by moving my head sideways "I have no idea honestly to what really happened to him in these short period of times." "Maybe he is trying to get strong, and he has his own reasons for it."

An announcement was made, "Passengers, you have arrived at your destination. Do depart carefully, and thank you for travelling with us."

"Looks like we have arrived," I said, and the three of us departed from the vehicle.

"So what's the plan?" Arvyan asked me, and I replied "nothing".

"Waiting for tomorrow to come and get over with this visit from the forces," I said while yawning a little.

A screech was heard, and it was coming towards us. The sound was getting louder second by second, and we started to panic a little. "Out of all the day was it supposed to come today when I am unarmed?" I cursed myself inwardly mentally. As the creature was about to scratch its claw against us, I was planning to use my power, but luckily, a spear suddenly landed on the creature's head, leading to its instant death, with its claw an inch away from us.

"Looks like I was on time, or else you kids would have been a bunch of meat meshed up together," the man commented as he took out his spear from the dead creature's head, and the blood began to spurge out of it.

"Who are you?" I asked the man with a hint of curiosity as he was collecting the head of the creature. "Me?" he replied with his fingers pointing towards himself, "I am just a passerby doing good deeds for its people. I was strolling around when I sensed the bloodthirst from this place, and I was amazed that this little creature could emanate that much killing intent. You were lucky I was there." As he was about to continue, he saw something and changed his sentence, "Although you would have been saved even if I were not here." I was confused, but I let it slide.

"You have some amazing skill mister. Spear has become a very inconvenient weapon to use nowadays, yet you used it with precision. You have gained a new fan." I said, and he laughed while saying, "I am glad to hear your praise. Appreciate a new fan anyway. Sayonara!!!" He yelled the last part and leaped up from the ground to the sky with his spear in his right hand as his shadow was cast over the building due to the sun setting.

"Be careful of him, Svarbhan; he is dangerous," Arvyan warned me, and I looked at him with a puzzled look, as even Sanyara was agreeing with him a little. "A man who learns nothing from his past can never go forward, and can never escape the haunting shadows that will be chasing him, would vanish. That's what my grandma used to say, so I hope you will think about this." Arvyan said to me, and we went to our apartment.

The same man who is now standing on the top of the building is now watching over them, looking at them with interest. "That boy is not normal. Why the heck are those two with him?" he thought to himself while looking at Svarbhan. "That bloodlust earlier was not from the creature. It was something different. Even for a veteran like me who deals with monsters daily, it was different. Something is not right. I need to watch over him." He muttered to himself.

"Guide me, Zenith-The Last Silence, for I am asking your help once more for my path to be guided by you. Show me the path that I shall take, manipulated by my choice forged by your will." He chanted while looking at his red spear. The spear began to shake, and the man smiled, knowing the message he received, and began to laugh out loud, screaming. "I am delighted by your answer, and now I shall walk the path you have chosen.

"So what were you talking about earlier? How come that man is dangerous?" I asked Arvyan. He replied, "Just a gut feeling I got, and it is never wrong." I countered him with a question, "Even after he saved us from that creature? Why would he spend his energy to deal with the beast if he had the intention to harm us?" Arvyan looked at me and said with a small smile, "We are humans. We wear many masks. We try our best to hide from others, yet our nature surfaces. We are coded with the same genetic coding since the beginning, infact I can say all living creatures are coded with one motto 'Survival of the fittest.' Still, the world works the same till now." I was stunned. Not by his tone but by the depth of words he used to describe the happening. I wanted to argue back, but I was not able to raise my voice to argue back because deep down I knew whatever he said was nothing but a bucket of truth.
