Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Chapter 28

"If you hurry up, no one can stop me." So stop messing with my head and show me the way!

- Hmm, I think there will still be someone who will stop you. – I visibly squeezed my wand.

"Hahahahahahahah, are you?" You still have milk on your lips, boy. – This crazy woman laughed. However, all I had to do was stall for time and distract her. Since Angelina had apparently successfully completed the task, Professor Snape was now standing behind the unsuspecting Rakepik.

"Not him, but me!" BE DUMBFOUNDED!

A red spell flew out of Snape's wand, which instantly amazed Patricia Rakepik. She was stunned by the impact and thrown aside by force, after which she no longer posed a danger to other people.

"Mr. Malfoy, are you okay?" – Professor Snape began to look at me worriedly.

- Yes, Professor. Fortunately, you arrived on time, so she didn't have time to do anything to me.

- What's going on here!? – another group of people has arrived here in the person of Professor McGonagall, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Angelina hiding behind him.

"Our former defense against the dark arts professor happened. She sneaked into the school and attacked a student. Severus looked pointedly at Dumbledore. And Minerva McGonagall did not stay away.

"Oh, I wanted to postpone the reassignment of admission to the school until a new professor was found, but who imagined that this could happen ..." Dumbledore stroked his beard, carefully examining me and Professor Rakepik.

"Draco, are you okay!?" Angelina finally couldn't stand it, and rushed to me and hugged me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. And it's all thanks to you. If you'd been late, I don't even know what that crazy woman would have thought.

"Hmm, hmm, so what about Miss Rakepik?" Professor McGonagall decided to break the silence. And because of this, Angelina blushed for some reason and recoiled from me, which caused Headmaster Dumbledore to smile mysteriously, after which he said:

"Take her to my office and call the Ministry's Aurors, as well as Mr. Lucius Malfoy. And yes, Mr. Malfoy, do you know why Miss Patricia decided to attack you? Did she say anything?

- I'm not sure exactly, Director. She was muttering something about Hogwarts secrets, but I don't understand what she meant. But I think I became her target because the reason she was fired was mostly me. After all, it was I who expressed my suspicions about her teaching methods to Professor Snape.

"I think Mr. Malfoy is right, Director. This woman is clearly crazy, so I see no point in interrogating the injured party. I think we'd better think about how to tame the rage and resentment that his father will express.

"Yes, you're probably right, Severus. Since we've figured this out, I think it's better for you kids to go to the Great Hall for dinner. Then we'll figure it out for ourselves.

"Yes, Headmaster Dumbledore! – I immediately agreed, after which I grabbed Angelina by the hand and left in a flash, before they had the desire to ask a few more unnecessary questions.

Soon, the director's office was bustling with activity and controversy. Everyone accused each other of negligence. The director's aurors for not updating the security clearance in time, the director of the ministry because they missed the "criminal". Well, Lucius Malfoy, both of them, that students could have suffered because of their negligence, and especially his son, who miraculously managed to avoid injuries and other consequences.

The arguments lasted for more than an hour, but in the end the parties came to a mutual agreement, and then went their separate ways. And of course, this incident did not affect the students of Hogwarts, who were so intensely preparing for exams. They didn't even realize that something like THIS had happened at school, so it became a secret between Draco and Angelina, which made them even closer to each other.

Gradually, it got hotter and hotter outside, and finally it was time for the exams.

In the huge office where we wrote our exam papers, it was not only hot, but also unbearably stuffy. Before the exams, everyone was given special pens, enchanted so that whoever picked up this pen would lose the opportunity to cheat.

There were also practical exams. Professor Flitwick invited students into his office one at a time and demanded to make the pineapple lying on the table dance. In general, his exam did not cause any difficulties, unlike the transfiguration exam. Professor McGonagall gave the task to turn a mouse into a snuffbox. The number of points received for the exam depended on how beautiful the snuffbox turned out to be. But if the snuffbox had a mustache, the score was automatically lowered. Basically, this exam was also not difficult for those who practiced transfiguration at least once a week, while the rest were only disappointed and scored lower.

But at Professor Snape's exam, everyone except me was already in no mood for jokes. Everyone was terribly nervous, trying to remember how to make a memory-wasting potion, no matter how ridiculous it might sound.

The last exam was history of magic. Within an hour, we had to answer questions in writing about ancient wizards who had lost their minds – which of them invented the self-stirring cauldron and all in the same spirit. And freedom was waiting for us ahead. A whole week of freedom before the announcement of the exam results. And when Professor Beans said it was time to hand in the papers, I rejoiced along with the others. After all, if they could spend all that free time doing nothing, then it was a great chance for me to stay in the library for a whole week and finally finish reading everything that was planned for this year!

"Draco, stop..." I heard Nymphadora's voice as I walked towards the library.

- Hello, cousin! How did you pass the exams?

- I think it's not bad, but you?

- Well, they turned out to be much easier than I expected, so I hope for a high score.

- Mmm, I don't think they were easy. It's just that someone really likes to study. But come on, let's not talk about studying, because it makes me sick. Where are you going, by the way?

- To the library. For once, I have free time to enjoy reading my planned books.

The girl just rolled her eyes at my words, then grabbed my hand and pulled me along.

"Hey, where are we going?" – I decided to ask her, without resisting in any way.

"Don't ask stupid questions. We're going for a walk! The weather is so wonderful outside, and you decided to spend your time reading books in a musty library, instead of having fun and relaxing like other children your age.…
