Sylas stood in silence for a long while, trying to organize his thoughts. He knew that the little girl had heard all of this, but her reaction was still much the same. She seemed to be processing things much the same way he was.
It was the scent of blood that finally awakened Sylas from his thoughts. The King Serpent had an enormous hole in its body, and after being forced into subservience by Sylas, it wasn't given the chance to heal itself.
Now, its life was fading away and it seemed like it might die any moment now.
"You are a clone from what I can tell. Where is your original body?" Sylas asked.
"I have no way of knowing that, master."
"Is it alive?"
"I… believe so. But if I am still alive now, I hope master understands that it has been many millennia since this version of myself was trapped within these walls. Master would have had no chance of defeating the me of back then, and you would certainly not have the slightest chance now."
