Having spent an entire day without eating any cooked food, Kira had to nibble on dried fruits and bread with tears in her eyes. Snow had assured her that in two days their procession would pass by a small town, and she would be able to eat as much as she wanted.
In her sleep, she dreamt of all sorts of delicious food—braised pork, drumsticks, barbecue, hotpot, and more. No wonder that when she opened her eyes, she was nearly tearing through her sleeves with her teeth. Quickly wiping the saliva from her lips, she looked around and sighed in relief when she saw that nobody had seen her in this embarrassing position.
"Uh… what time is it?" she muttered, lifting the curtain, only to find it pitch black outside. The soldiers had already set up camp. They glanced toward the royal carriage worriedly from time to time, wondering how much longer the princess would sleep. But her shadow guards kept them at a distance, so all they could do was pray she would come out on her own soon.
