Chapter 113 - Darkness within

Deep within the soul of Eve, The void around her burned red and black like a dying sun.

Her hands covered her ears as the echo of Dark Eve's roars tore through her mind like thunder.

"I don't want this!" Eve screamed through sobs.

"Please! I don't want to hurt everyone!"

Dark Eve towered behind her, massive, smiling, dripping shadow like blood.

"You already are," Dark Eve purred.

Eve curled inward.

"I just wanted my brother back… I just wanted all this death and destruction to end…"

"Why does everything I love die?"

Dark Eve crouched low, face inches from hers.

"Because suffering makes power."

"Because pain makes monsters."

"Because God made a world where love is a weakness."

"I'm not like you…"

Dark Eve's grin widened.

"You're exactly like me."

The void shook as the seal outside absorbed more energy.

Pressure crushed inward.

Eve screamed.

"It hurts! It hurts so much!"

Dark Eve wrapped shadowy arms around her from behind — not comforting, imprisoning.

"A waste of space, another useless soul

The world is better if you just go"

"I've seen your soul

It isn't worth you keeping it

And your incompleteness

Is what's been completin' me."

Eve sobbed harder.

"I don't want to end everything!"

Dark Eve's voice sharpened.

"But you want the pain to stop."

"You want the universe to feel what you felt."

Eve's breath stuttered.

Tears streamed endlessly.

"That doesn't make me evil…"

Dark Eve whispered in her ear.

"It makes you honest."

The darkness surged.

Eve screamed as power flooded through her again.

"GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HEAD!"

"I don't want to disappear… I don't want to be alone…"

Dark Eve tightened around her.

"You won't be."

"I'll the voice inside your head, I am the poison in your veins"

"I toy with your emotions, I take pleasure in your pain and I will take you"

"You could be my fallen angel"

"You'll burn away the world that hurt you because your friends, your family and Adam never loves you, because everything leading to this point was all their fault"

The void trembled violently.

Outside, the seal glowed brighter.

Closer to detonation.

Eve slammed her fists against the ground inside her mind.

"STOP USING MY PAIN!"

Her scream echoed.

"I Why the fuck you gotta mess with me!"

"GET ADAM NAME OUT YOUR MOUTH!"

The name ripped through the darkness like lightning.

For a fraction of a second—

Dark Eve flinched.

The shadow flickered.

Eve looked up, hope breaking through tears.

"He loved me…" she cried. "He died so I could live…"

Her voice softened.

"He wouldn't want this, they wouldn't want this."

Dark Eve's eyes narrowed.

"Love is what got him killed."

Eve screamed back.

"LOVE IS WHAT MADE HIM SAVE ME!"

The void shook violently.

The monster outside thrashed harder.

The bomb's glow surged unstable.

Eve clutched her chest.

"As long as I'm breathing, my friend's needs me!"

Dark Eve roared.

Dark Eve: YOU THINK YOU'RE LOVED, BUT THAT'S JUST A LIE, I CROSS MY HEART AND I HOPE YOU DIE!

"LET IT HURT!"

"LET IT TURN INTO POWER!"

Eve screamed back with everything she had.

"I DON'T WANT POWER!"

"I WANT MY FAMILY!"

The words shattered something.

The darkness rippled violently.

For the first time, Dark Eve stepped back.

Eve stood slowly.

"You can't take what he died for," Eve whispered.

"You can't turn my love into a weapon."

The seal outside cracked faintly.

Dark Eve hissed.

"You're weak."

Eve wiped tears from her face.

"I'm human."

The pressure surged.

The bomb trembled violently.

Two forces inside one soul pulling in opposite directions.

The massive transparent container teleported to Earth hovered in the sky like a second sun, glowing red & black.

Its presence alone bent gravity.

Storms formed instantly across continents.

Tides rose.

The planet groaned.

Yahweh floated beside it, peaceful as a god watching sunrise.

Red light surged.

A massive glowing number burned across the surface of the container with a 60 second countdown.

Eve felt it.

The timer echoed in her bones.

"No… no no no NO!"

Dark Eve laughed wildly.

Eve clawed at the void inside her mind.

"People are down there!"

"Kids! Families! They didn't do anything!"

Dark Eve snarled.

"Neither did you."

The number shifted.

58

57

The planet trembled with each change.

Earthquakes ripped through cities.

The container pulsed brighter.

Cracks of energy lashed into the atmosphere, vaporizing clouds.

Airplanes fell from the sky.

Satellites disintegrated.

The countdown echoed across the world.

45

People screamed.

Prayed.

Ran.

The end had arrived.

"I WON'T LET YOU USE ME!" Eve screamed.

Dark Eve tightened around her.

"You already too late."

Eve sobbed violently.

Adam's face flashed in her mind.

His smile.

His sacrifice.

His last words.

"You live," she whispered.

The void was collapsing inward.

Dark Eve no longer whispered.

She lunged.

Her shadow form slammed into Eve and drove her across the endless black floor.

Eve hit hard, rolling, coughing, pain tearing through her like real wounds.

"You're ruining everything!" Dark Eve shrieked.

"You're weakening us!"

Eve struggled to stand.

"I won't let you kill them!"

Dark Eve's claws formed, long blades of darkness, and slashed across Eve's chest.

She grabbed Eve by the hair and smashed her face into the void repeatedly.

"You're the problem!"

Dark Eve lifted her violently and slammed her down.

"IT ENDS WHEN YOU DO!"

The darkness closed in like a crushing ocean.

"You die," Dark Eve snarled, "and I take control forever."

Eve gasped for breath.

Her vision blurred.

Blood dripped from her lips.

"I'm… not letting you…"

Dark Eve screamed in rage and raised both claws.

"I'LL RIP YOU OUT OF ME!"

Dark Eve's claws came down.

Eve rolled barely in time.

The void split open where she'd been.

Endless darkness poured out.

Dark Eve roared.

"STAY STILL!"

Eve stumbled up, blood everywhere.

"You won't take me!"

Dark Eve tackled her.

They crashed together.

Dark Eve slammed Eve's head into the ground.

"I AM YOU!"

Eve screamed back through tears.

"YOU'RE MY PAIN, NOT MY SOUL!"

Dark Eve punched her hard enough to shatter the void.

"You're weak!"

Eve swung back desperately.

"You're scared!"

The words hit harder than fists.

Dark Eve snarled.

"I'm all that keeps us alive!"

"You're killing us!"

The darkness roared.

Outside, the container glowed violently.

The pressure was unbearable.

Reality bent inward toward the living bomb.

Alexander slammed into the seal again — hell-prime flame roaring off his body like a solar storm.

His fists struck the transparent wall then a shockwave flattened miles of land.

Alexander screamed in pain, arms burning, bones cracking.

"I...CAN'T...HOLD IT...MUCH...LONGER!"

The wall pushed back like a tidal wave of cosmic force, throwing him backward.

Kai caught him midair before he slammed into the ground.

Alexander's arms were bleeding.

Skin torn.

Flame flickering weakly.

The countdown flared brighter.

2

Don clenched his fists, blood dripping between his fingers.

Seraphina stared at the sky, tears streaming.

"It's not enough…"

Vincent fell to one knee.

Dr. Jin whispered in horror.

"We're out of time…"

Across the ruined cities, people stopped running.

They looked up at the burning sky and understood.

This was the end.

Alexander slowly pushed himself up, shaking.

His eyes burned with refusal.

But even he knew.

One more hit wouldn't break it.

Far away, standing atop a shattered skyscraper, Victoria watched.

The glowing prison reflected in her crimson eyes.

She clenched her fists.

And memories hit her like knives.

Zadkiel's final smile.

His body turning into light.

His sacrifice.

His choice to die so others could live.

Was all my choices… wrong?

Was all my hatred just me running from pain?

She watched Alexander bleed for a world that hated him.

Watched Don stand even when hope died.

Watched everyone fight against the inevitable.

Her lips trembled.

"…Idiots."

She stepped forward.

Each step cracked the air with demonic pressure.

"You would all risk your lives," Victoria called out, voice carrying through the storm,

"for this ugly world that God sought to kill…"

The team turned.

Alexander stared in shock.

"Victoria…?"

She walked past the destruction calmly.

Toward the burning seal.

Her eyes softened just slightly.

"…I cannot just stand by."

She clenched her fists as crimson power erupted around her like a living inferno.

"It's time I match your strength of will."

Victoria vanished.

Reappeared beside Alexander in a violent burst of force.

She didn't hesitate.

The impact detonated like a nuclear bomb.

The container cracked.

A visible fracture spider-webbed across its surface.

Everyone froze.

Don's eyes widened.

Alexander's flame reignited brighter.

Kai's energy surged.

Seraphina spread her wings, pouring power forward.

Vincent stood.

Dr. Jin shouted.

"ALL TOGETHER!"

They attacked.

Alexander screamed with everything he had left.

"EVE WE'RE HERE!!!"

Victoria snarled beside him.

"DON'T YOU DARE DIE AFTER ALL THIS!"

They struck together.

BOOOOOOM!!!!

The seal shattered halfway.

Light exploded.

Darkness surged.

The living bomb destabilized violently.
