"You can leave," Wang Haoran said, his voice quiet but firm. He didn't look at Doctor Park or Nurse Shen.
Doctor Park gave a small nod. "I'll consult someone more experienced in cases like Miss Li's." Her voice was composed, but she didn't move. Nurse Shen lingered behind her. Like Aunt Hi, her eyes glistened, but she fought to remain detached, a professional instinct drilled into her after years in the field.
They exited the room, and as the door closed behind them with a soft click, Doctor Park's legs faltered. She caught the wall with one hand.
"When will I ever get used to this?" she murmured under her breath.
Beside her, Nurse Shen stood still. Her composure cracked, and tears spilled down her cheeks.
"Sigh..."
"Come on," Doctor Park whispered, her voice a calming balm in the sterile corridor. Nurse Shen nodded wordlessly.
