Barely a minute after Aphrodite vanished, Nathan found himself wondering what she had meant by company.
He did not have to wait long for an answer.
Footsteps approached from behind, followed by familiar voices drifting through the dark.
"They are so loud."
"And drunk."
"Honestly, drinking at this hour too. I like a drink as much as anyone, but there should be limits."
"I agree. We are walking straight into a daimyo's nest, and they are not worried in the slightest. The men in our group are hopeless."
Nathan recognized Sana's voice first, then Yuwa's. So they had abandoned the indoor bath after all, likely for the same reason he had chosen the outdoor one. Too much noise, too much laughter, too much drink, and not enough peace.
"I just hope there are no peeping creeps around," Sana said.
"It is the middle of the night, Sana," Yuwa replied. "If anyone stayed awake this long just for the chance to spy on naked women, that would be a very dedicated pervert."
