Chapter 1 - Morning Routine

In the middle of a silent forest, rests a lone wooden cottage. Silence turns to a symphony of bird calls as the sun rises.

The chirps make their way to a bedroom window, where rests a little girl tucked asleep in her bed.

The morning sun shines through the gap between the curtains. With the gradual warmth on top of the little girl, her eyes open. She stretches her arms and lets out a yawn.

She shoves her blanket aside to get out of bed, and treads with soft footsteps towards her window.

She reaches for her curtains, takes them in her hands and pulls them open, letting a burst of light fill her room. Her attitude just as bright as the new day.

"Goooood morning, Morning! You look extra shiny today!" She cheers. Her hands land on the edge of her window and she chimes,

"Alright! What better way to start this beautiful day than with some yummy breakfast!? But first thing's first...!"

The little girl strolls across her bedroom and halts in front of the door.

Her cheerful smile switches to anticipation as snores erupt on the other side of the doorway.

Her little body and the entire room trembles at its core, but not from fear, she does this routine every morning. She sighs,

"…I gotta wake up my Daddy…"

The child moves away from the door and heads towards this hinge that's as big as her little body.

She spits on her hands a couple of times before she rubs them together to take on the giant hinge. She puts her weight into her hands and lifts the hinge high enough to straighten up on its own.

The room shifts, for it opens not only the door, but it also opens the entire wall as well.

The little girl sets foot in a whole new world from within her room.

The space reveals the child, only about 2 inches tall compared to the gargantuan nightstand she's positioned on. Behind her is her little house that is made up of an old lantern.

Snores bellow across the gigantic bedroom. The tiny, little girl contemplates to herself.

"Waking Daddy up is always a challenge…" She whispers.

With a couple more stretches, she takes a deep breath and declares in her voice,

"But I'm ready…! YAAAAA!"

The little girl dashes with a battle cry and then leaps over the edge of the giant nightstand and lands on a humongous pillow with a poof.

The child strides across the vast fluff while the harsh snores continue.

She halts to take a breather, and wind blows on her like a storm. She wipes her forehead and murmurs,

"Phew! Made it!"

Literally face to face, she reaches her goal of getting close to her father's colossal face.

Now the real challenge is about to begin.

The Giant man sleeps on his side, facing the little girl. She then proceeds to grab a handful of locks of his hair and tugs on it while she sings,

"Daddy! Wakey wakey, I want eggs and bakey!"

But the Giant remains unmoved and continues to snore away, causing the little girl to impatiently puff her cheeks.

The Giant rolls on his back with his ear near the child, which strikes an idea for her. With a devious giggle, she sets foot in the Giant's ear and says before she rushes in,

"When Daddy's this sleepy, I play 'The Alarm Clock'."

Moments later, she travels deep in the Giant's ear. Her father's snores are muffled, but still rumble her to her core as it echoes within.

She hangs onto the wall of the Giant's ear canal as a guide, for it's pitch black in there. The child teases,

"Daddy's ear is like exploring a deep dark cave…This looks like a good spot."

The little girl takes a deep breath and cups her hands, about to shout her father awake, but instead she whispers,

"Daddy."

Suddenly, the whole space trembles and groans rumble throughout the ear.

Outside, the Giant's eyes wince before he opens them slowly. He gets up groggily, rubbing the back of his head before he makes a huge yawn.

Back inside his ear, the space within tilts and the little girl giggles loudly as she bumps against the wall of his ear canal.

Back outside, the Giant jolts, and says with confusion,

"Huh…? I felt some movement in my ear just now."

A muffled, but distinct giggle bounces in his ear, he realizes,

"…And I know that giggling anywhere."

Even with that realization, the Giant chooses to play along. He pretends to contemplate,

"Hmmm…Certainly it can't be my daughter, she's too cute for this sort of thing."

The little girl tries her best to hold back her giggles and tries to be as quiet as possible. Before the Giant makes a fake gasp,

"It seems I have a Giggling Gremlin in my ear!"

The little girl can barely contain her laughter, her Daddy is acting really silly right now. That's until she spots a huge finger coming in his ear canal as the Giant speaks,

"I know you're there, Giggling Gremlin. Come out and face me!" he demands playfully. The Giant lets his pinky finger in to retrieve the little troublemaker.

In response, the child giggles loudly as she rushes deeper within the Giant's ear. The Giant feels the little one going in the other direction. He chuckles,

"Oh, playing hard to get, are we? Alright you asked for this."

The Giant prepares one hand on one side of his ear, while he prepares the other hand to smack his head.

Inside, the little girl continues to bolt and giggle down his ear until the whole area tilts and the ear canal quakes with rhythmic taps, causing the child to lose her balance and slide towards the opposite side.

She exits his ear and plops on the Giant's awaited hand.

It is revealed that the human child is only half the size of his pinky.

The little girl shakes her head from the landing and feels a large shadow loom over her. She feels the air rumble as a booming chuckle erupts and a warm breath washes over her.

The child gasps as she turns around and sees the large playful grin.

The Giant makes sure he's at an eye level to his human daughter, and with a playful tone, he booms,

"Oh! The Giggling Gremlin really IS my daughter."

"Daddy, you knew it was me all along." The little girl interrupts.

"Do I? Or that I don't know the difference between a Gremlin and my own daughter." He jokingly says.

The little girl is shocked and hurt from the comment, she blushes and yells back,

"HEY!"

The Giant makes a booming hearty chuckle as he brings his huge pointer finger on top his tiny human daughter's head.

"Of course I'm joking, good morning, Hope."

The little human girl named 'Hope', embraces her Giant father's finger and greets back while nuzzling it warmly,

"Good morning, Daddy."
