"Haha, it tickles, Dad, I love you!"
Mai Xiaomai said with a laugh.
Mai's dad's eyes became moist.
He also felt proud to have this daughter in his lifetime, and he loved her too.
"Xiaomai, I know you're busy, I won't disturb you. Come by when you have time, if not, your mom and I can hang out together. It's okay."
Mai's dad said to her, noticing it was getting late.
"Dad—"
Mai Xiaomai called out to him with a bit of sourness in her voice, "You're always thinking about me so much, I don't even know how to repay you."
"You being able to live safely, happily, and joyfully is the best repayment for me. Dad doesn't need anything else."
Mai's dad patted her head and said, "Go now, be careful, don't fall."
Upon hearing this, Mai Xiaomai thought back to her childhood.
As a child, she liked to jump around.
Every day, she ran ahead while dad watched nervously from behind, constantly calling out for her to be careful and not to fall.
