I told my parents I don't want to be here and they just said I'll grow into it. This underwater tour sends shivers down my spine and yet they refuse to acknowledge that. It's not the water that scares me, nor the animals... it's the horrors underneath. Old ships that could harbor terrible creatures or monsters that disguise themselves as large structures. We walk into the submarine and immediately I feel the small quakes of it floating about and hear all the tiny little beeps and alarms. The sub eventually begins to decend and despite my parents efforts, i stay far away from any windows. The tour proceeds as normal until I hear a group of kids screaming, so I, very begrudgingly, make my way to the window. Outside, a dark, shadowy creature stalks the submarine, throwing everyone into a panic. Eventually, however, the captain tells everyone on the PA that it was just some old metal beams, most likely from a wreck, and once everyone calmed down we all saw it to be true. It's debris, just... debris. My parents insist thats all thats down here besides fish, so I decide I'll keep to the windows and enjoy this. It really is quite pleasant but then I see it. A large cloud of darkness beneath us, with the only distinct detail being what appears to be large, glowing white eyes. I look around for some type of metal, or signs of a shipwreck. There is none. There is a monster deep in the ocean and nobody can see it. The silence in my mind is broken by the captain announcing the tour is over. The creature is gone. It wasn't a mistake in my eyes, no, I saw the ungodly sized monster swim away.
There is an unimaginably large monster hiding beneath the ocean, and there is nothing I, nor anyone else can do about it.
