Chapter 8 - Myrrdin Castle

Myrrdin Castle was one of the most Beautiful places in the whole world, located on its own Little island that seemed to be nowhere and everywhere at once. When you went to the beach, you would see passing local marks that made no sense. As the days passed you would see the shores changing in the distance, At first I thought the island was just a moving but the My first time at one of the council had identified the beach in the distance the shore of turkey inside of the black sea the next year the island was in the tyrrehenian sea off the coast of italy there was no way the island could move through bosphorous the strait of turkey to return to the wider sea.

A Teleporting island that was invisible and undetectable by any means to those that did not have a veritas coin from the initial invitation letter, to those without the veritas coin making it nearly impossible to reach it by any means magical or muggle, Now even though any who have the veritas coin could use it as amagical gate way straight to the council hall arriving for the veritas council through the coin was considered rude kind of like if someone was registered to the floo fireplace and the way enter was going through the magical gate way located in the place of de Bastille a beautiful historic square in Paris.

The gate was also invisible and impossible to find unless you possessed a veritas coin, since the council meetings were three-day affairs. Many of the council members came with their spouses and heirs. The Muggle spouses and heirs would be under enchantment as soon as they entered the gateway, a mixture of a notice me not charm and oblivate. They would ignore and forget any outstanding impossible things; their brains would come up with a reasonable explanation of how they ended up on Myrddin Island that didn't include a magical teleportation gate. It made it easier for those who wanted to show off their families as a status symbol, but did not want them to be privy to the larger workings of the council.

The enchantment wasn't super powerful; if you had a strong will and looked at the memories hard enough, you could resist the enchantment, but it was difficult to the level that an average wizard couldn't manage it. If you had the mental strength to avoid the enchantment, then odds are you might be in the council already. The user of the coin could alleviate the enchantment by pressing the coins to the palms of their families, for those who depended on their spouse for counsel would do so, and those who believed their heirs would one day become Veritas Council members could remove the enchantment so they could learn early of the big movers and shakers of the world. Even if they didn't remove the enchantment their heirs could still interact with the others building valuable connection for later on in life.

Though, since Veritas council seats weren't inheritable, that was considered a gamble, exposing your Heir at an early age to the council without being at least an Artegos leader might mean, after your death, your child will spend the rest of their life looking for the council, knowing they weren't important enough to warrant an invitation.

The Veritas coin had another function outside of controlling the enchantment charm; it also gave the user limited knowledge of the other factions. The Veritas coin only gives very basic knowledge of the time period of Merlin's leave, so information on magical governments and a few magical schools, and the basic history of the council. This was a good thing for all factions. For the Sorcerer, Light, and Dark factions, it made the mass amount of the Muggle faction underestimate the power of the magicals. Sure, they knew specific individuals were powerful and respected that power enough to let the other sections stand as equals, but the information they received from the coin is that the church was able to get mages to serve them, greatly underestimating the power in the other factions.

Because of their lack of information, the muggles called the different factions by different names for The Muggle faction(Secular), The Sorcerer faction(Traditionalist), The Light faction(Illuminati), and The Dark faction(Dominon).

The Seculars had the worst relationship with the Traditionalists. Sure, the Hand/Ten rings had power and influence, but Kun lun? Karma Taj? Their influence was minimal, so the Muggles tended to look down on them, ironically, since they were probably the most powerful of the four.

The Seculars had limited but positive interactions with the Illuminati, though in the last 30 years, since Dumbledore became the Supreme Mugwump, their relationship took a big hit, making the Secular and Dominion Group a bit closer. Part of that was because Dumbledore was very outspoken against Vandal Savage, and part of it was his relationship with Grindelwald.

Though there were those who supported him because of him taking Grindelwald down, securing their undying support, mostly those from ICW, there were many who believed that he shared many of Grindelwald's positions, but the main difference between the two was that Grindelwald wanted to expose magic to the greater world and remove the veritas council alltogether were as Dumbledore he wanted to be the next Leader of the council taking merlins place. So the Council was very hot or cold in their support of the leader of the light.

Which is also what gave Voldemort the confidence to believe he could rule the world, with the Seculars leaning toward the Dominion and the Traditionalists staying neutral for the first time in hundreds of years, the Dominion was winning over the Illuminati and was still thriving under the Leadership of my mother. Speaking of which.

"You look amazing, we match so well, I Bet Narcissa is going to melt with jealousy at how much more Handsome my son is compared to her little Dragon," My mother says as soon as she sees me. She is dressed in a Gothic-style, very form-fitting dress. She looks Gorgeous, enough that I even freeze a bit when I first see her. My Past life Memories may have changed how I look at her a little, not just the overbearing mother I see every day, but a second or third-hand perspective. I push that thought away since it's a bit weird and creepy, but I think she notices something off. I think she must think I'm nervous about the Council Meeting.

"Come on, let's go, you know what Floo address to use, right?"She asks me.

I nod. There is a Potion shop that the Black's own in the south of France, where we use the Fireplace for Floo travel every year, called Noir Remedes. She waves me in front of her.

"Noir Remedes, "I say as I walk through the flames after throwing the powder. I close my eyes as the flames grab hold of me, and when I open them, I am greeted with the sight of the dingy potion shop. The shop is in desperate need of repair, but not many potioniers Travel Outside of Place Cachee for their potion materials, so there isn't as much business as its sister stores.

There is an elderly werewolf couple that runs this shop for the blacks. When he sees me, he has a small grimace at the sight of me. I always wondered why he didn't like me. I hadn't done anything to him, though he did put effort into hiding it, as we were his employer. First chance to use my Observe skill, I was a bit afraid to use it on my mom since she was so powerful.

Their second son, Godfrey Greyback, who had worked his way into a leadership position among the werewolves, tried to confront him to save Fenrir. Fenrir killed his own brother. Using the fear that came from killing his brother, he made his own faction among the Werewolves]

'Well, I guess he has a good reason, but that doesn't mean He should take it out on me,' I think as I walk over to him, making a split-second decision, I hold out my arm to shake his hand. He looks at it for a moment, but then puts his hand out.

"How are you today, Mr.Grayback? It's good to see you, "I say to him with faux Kindness as I activate the Luck of the Damned Skill." You look as though you've lost a bit of weight, been hitting the gym."

He doesn't seem to be noticing the Skill being used. It only activates for 4 seconds, and Most handshakes only Last about 2 seconds, but I talked as we shook hands, so it doesn't seem too awkward. Maybe he will think I'm practicing from my etiquette lessons. SO just under 20 minutes of good luck for me, 20 minutes of bad luck for him. When he takes his hand back, he lifts his arm to flex and show off his nonexistent muscles.

"Oh, these old things got to stay in Shape to keep the wife Interested," He says, playing along, hiding his distaste for me. I am, after all, his employer, and to him, brown-nosing a spoiled rich kid can go a long way. I hear my mother appear through the flames.

"Ronan, You Didn't put on your heir Ring," She says in a stern tone. She grabs my shoulder, making her face her. "Don't forget to put this on every time you leave the house she says, looking deep into my eyes so that I know she is being serious.

As soon as I turned away from him, Palios started walking away from us, not wanting to interact with my Mother. His hatred is much stronger because of her direct relation with Walburga, but bound by the oaths of his position. As we step away to leave the shop, I hear something fall, and Palios exclaims in pain. A cauldron had fallen off the top shelf and landed on the top of his foot. I moved back to help him up a little, surprised by how quickly something had happened to him.

"Do you need help, sir?" I ask in a respectful tone. He sends a glare at my direction, I guess because he is in pain, he does a less-than-great job hiding his dislike of me.

"No, my wife is upstairs, no bother," He says with a grimace, waving me off. "Honey, can you get me the first aid kit?" He yells up to his wife.

"Sure, Honey, it's under your side of the be,d right?"A voice yells back down. Though the latter half is said with the sound of someone moving the upstairs compartment as if checking, while she is saying it. A look of panic on Mr. Greyback's face.

"No, Honey, it's not there," he yells in a panicked tone. That doesn't seem to stop the person upstairs, though. He pushes up onto his own one good foot as if he's going to rush up stairs to stop her, but as soon as he reaches the door to the staircase, he hears.

"OGGHHH You better hope you're seriously injured or I'm going to rip you apart," I hear a voice from upstairs yell down. I hope I didn't ruin their marriage, but the show was definitely fun to watch.

I let the door close and run to catch up with my mom. Who has already hailed a taxi to head for la Bastille? I slip the Beautiful Black Heir ring on my finger, it almost seems as if it is glowing, and I can feel the thum as it resonates with my magic, similar to the way the wand did. A layer of protection on my mind and body is enough to stop basic legilmancy and simple curses.

As the taxi arrives at La Bastille, I grab her Hand. We walk to the massive gate for Mydrrin castle steping onto the large baby Blue Platform with a High Gazebo that acts as a dort of Apparition Point for veritas council members but unlike regular apparition which is as if a tube shrinking you down and then pushing you through the other side usually forming under the users own magical power while this magical platform lays on a magical leyline draining a little of magic from it at a specific time is form a semi stable teleportation bridge between to places like a mixture of how sorcerers create gates and apparation for magicals letting out to a similar platform on The isle of Myrddin's Castle.

I see a few familiar faces on the platform but my mother holds me tight not letting me wander away as this type of transportation is specifically mysterious because none of the Council can figure out how it exactly works its not, I may call it an apparition point but since magicals can use it we don't understand what it is it isn't like the floo powder or the portals of the sorcerer, a few people guess that it is a significant part of the Council Ritual because as you are teleported A rush of magic moves through you and those who use the coins to go to straight to the council hall feel substantially less of a boost.

The Magic Verifies if you have a Veritas coin, each coin allows you to bring up to three people, spouse, heir, and spare, or maybe spouse, security guard, and heir. But bringing over three people, well, it's a bit like playing Russian Roulette the magic will determine who is essential, and those who are not and if they are found not to be essential no one has ever found enough of them to be sure what happens to them but from the breif screams other people have heardwhen they disappear id doubt it's that they are taken to eat chocolate and cake in super happy dreamland.

But the Sight you are greeted when you get to the other side Is just so Jaw Droppingly beautiful it will make you forget any unpleasentness, Myrrdin Castle puts Hogwarts to shame in comparison seeing it makes me think this is where Evalon really is The waters surrounding the island and so clear, and crystal and smooth going out for miles with no obstructions the sea reflecting the sky in such a way that the citriusy hue of the perfect sky Giving it a strange effect As if a perpetual Sunset though not truly endless, And from My memories The night brought an Even more Gorgeous view with the moon seemed brighter and clearer.

The Castle itself resembled in architecture the Mont Saint of Michel, France.

My mom pulls me out from my admiration of the view as we walk over toward her sister.
