Lu Hechen's words made the defense attorney chuckle slightly, "In my view, all of this is nothing more than a flimsy excuse for your ill intentions."
"I object," the prosecutor interjected at the right moment, "I believe the witness has done sufficiently well, and the defense attorney has yet to present evidence exonerating Qin Meifen. I object to the defense attorney's meaningless questioning of the witness."
At this point, the Judgment Chief leaned over and whispered something to the two judges beside him, speaking so softly that no one else could hear.
But soon, the Judgment Chief spoke up, "Objection sustained. The defense attorney need not question further regarding motives, as the case's background was fully described in prior sessions."
"Understood!" The defense attorney nodded in agreement with the Judgment Chief's statement, showing comprehension and compliance.
"Next, the prosecutor will proceed with questioning."
