"That's more like you, Jian Xi."
Si Yuhuan sat across from her, took a bite of the dish, and wiped his mouth. "It doesn't taste very good. I'll get you a new chef."
"Si Yuhuan! I'm talking to you about the child!"
Jian Xi couldn't wait even another minute.
"How about this: the child can stay with you, just let me see him to put my mind at ease, okay?"
Si Yuhuan coldly refused. "You don't have the right to bargain with me."
Jian Xi was furious, clenching her fists tightly. She couldn't lash out or turn hostile; the child was in his hands, and she was completely at his mercy.
"Fine."
Lacking the appetite to eat, Jian Xi just drank some soup.
To her surprise, when Si Yuhuan said he'd change chefs, he really did it. He brought in the famed Imperial Chef from a prominent Chinese restaurant, who, under a nutritionist's guidance, prepared a variety of delicious dishes for her.
At ten o'clock in the evening, she watched as dish after dish was served.
