Steward Cai first picked up a piece of braised roe deer meat and put it in his mouth. His eyes widened, and the next second he started chewing quickly while reaching for another piece with his chopsticks.
Seeing his behavior, what was there for Madam Cai not to understand? Her eyes curved with a smile: "I told you Sister Chow Yun's cooking is quite tasty!"
Saying this, Madam Cai quickly picked up her chopsticks too, taking a bite of the stir-fried dried bean curd with shredded black fungus.
"It's so delicious." Madam Cai almost swallowed her tongue along with it: "Prime Minister Feng is too picky. Such delicious dishes, and he didn't even try much of it."
But thinking about it, Feng Xian is the Empress's own brother, frequently visiting the Imperial Palace, surely he must be tired of palace food.
Realizing this, Madam Cai let it go.
With Steward Cai eating ravenously, he couldn't find a moment to respond, nodding vigorously while eating.
