Chapter 239 - Chapter 238: Arin's Report

Haruto even began to think that if he had to face them all at once relying solely on physical strength, without Aura Arts or Chakra, he might encounter real difficulties.

This development became a source of pride and satisfaction for Haruto. Seeing the children who were initially full of doubt now standing confidently in the training arena was proof that hard work never betrays results.

Haruto was confident that before the Sports Festival began, most of them would reach Level 2, an achievement that was not easy for a new student at the City Academy.

However, amidst that pride, there was another worry that continued to haunt Haruto's mind. A threat that Haruto did not fully understand. The information he had gathered about the planned attack on the City Academy still felt vague.

For the past month, Haruto had been quietly trying to investigate, utilizing all his connections and instincts to search for clues. However, until now, the identity of the group behind the threat remained a mystery.

In a small room in an old inn, the atmosphere felt quiet yet tense. The oil lamp hanging from the ceiling cast a dim light, creating moving shadows on the decaying wooden walls. The scent of damp wood mixed with the faint trace of nearly burnt incense filled the air.

A man sat on the edge of the bed, his body leaning back casually as if nothing was too important. His hair was disheveled, and his sharp eyes seemed to be weighing something unspoken.

In front of the man stood a woman with a firm posture. The dark cloak she wore swayed gently as she shifted, revealing an aura of seriousness that contrasted with the man's demeanor.

"Hey, how's your search for that group going?" Kakashi, with a thin smile full of confidence, broke the silence. Kakashi's voice sounded calm, but there was an urgent tone hidden beneath it.

Arin let out a soft huff, her face showing a mix of exhaustion and frustration. Without saying a word, Arin pulled out a stack of documents from her cloak and handed them to Kakashi with a slightly rough motion.

"This is what I managed to find," Arin said, her tone sounding cold yet controlled.

Kakashi took the documents and began to examine them. He squinted, focusing on every word and detail written. The documents revealed information about the mysterious group that had recently drawn attention.

They always wore dark cloaks and masks, their faces hidden in shadow. They were often seen in the black market, trading large quantities of explosives, something that clearly raised suspicions.

"Hmm..." Kakashi murmured, frowning. His previously relaxed expression slowly turned serious. "Do you know who they really are?"

Arin shook her head, her eyes reflecting dissatisfaction with herself. "No, I don't know. They are very careful to hide their identities."

"Then, what about the black market? Do they have any more information?" Kakashi continued, his tone slightly more assertive.

"Unfortunately not. I've tried asking, but even the people in the black market don't know who they are," Arin replied, shaking her head again. There was a hint of frustration in her voice.

Kakashi sighed. He leaned back on the bed for a moment, his gaze vacant as if searching for answers in the ceiling of the room. "Alright, what about other groups or organizations in the black market? Is there anything suspicious?"

Arin paused for a few seconds, seeming to weigh her answer before finally speaking. "The Apocalypse Travelers are still the same as usual. They remain a bunch of odd people with their silly rituals. The five other mid-level organizations—Guard Dogs, Transfer Doctors, Vanishing Thieves, Odd Painters, and Blood Cleaners—also haven't shown any suspicious activity."

Kakashi looked at Arin with raised eyebrows. "And the Soul Collectors? What happened to them?"
