"That was my sound magic. Sorry if that was too loud for you."
"No, no. I already prepared these when I saw those ripples."
I tapped the shadow ear muffler on my head. He looked at it weirdly, not knowing what it is or what it does, but then he decided to continue to face the dragon chimera that looked more pissed now.
That attack should have entirely disintegrate a normal person into thin air, and yet the dragon chimera looked unscathed. The scales looked normal and undamaged at all, while the eyes became redder, angrier.
"If anything, what you did just now is making it angrier."
"… I can see that very well. How annoying."
The mutant dragon dashed forward again, and this time I am the one moving. I casted a scythe on my hand and got close to the dragon. It swung its gigantic claws at me, but I simply moved myself away using my wing and sliced the dragon's face.
PRANGG!!!!
But, my scythe exploded to pieces when it hit the skin.
"W-Why is this happening agaaain!?"
I quickly flapped away and the dragon chased. We got caught in a chasing game immediately, and since both of us are using wings, it is very difficult for me to escape from the dragon since it can turn just as good as I am.
I am but a mere human, and the mutant dragon has been living his entire life with those wings… no matter how short it was, one can never ignore its instincts on the use of wings.
Dammit, this thing is fast!
Well, from the looks of it, its full attention was sent straight towards me. Which means, that old man should be able to do something by now.
"Rize! Keep its face on your tail!"
"Don't hit me with that sound magic!!"
I shouted as I tried to fly even faster.
This mutant dragon... even though its wings are unstable, it flew just as fast as me at my top speed. How annoying...
Then, I guess I'll just make it more difficult for it to chase me.
VWOOOSHH!!!!
I opened up some holes on my wings and poured in some of my Emperor tier fire magic. The holes became jets immediately, and propelled me even faster.
Now I am three times faster than that mutant dragon. Eat my dust, loser.
After creating a good distance between me and the dragon, I stopped my flight and turned around. Then I quickly casted a giant firebomb at the size of a basketball.
That thing is ridiculously strong, but can it handle a firebomb this size...?
But right when I was about to throw the firebomb, a lightning strike appeared a few meters away next to me, and the arch-mage suddenly appeared from it.
"Damn, you scared me…"
"Well, sorry for the lightning. Anyways, cover your ears."
I removed the firebomb in my palms and quickly closed my ears by forming a shadow ear muffler again on my head. But just in case, I used my hands to push it even deeper, so I can't hear jackshit.
The arch-mage lifted his hands forward. In his hands is a ball that looks like his magic attack. The ball is barely visible, and the insides looked very warped with all the ripples inside it. I can sense some heavy pressure coming from it just from staring at it.
VWOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!
Meanwhile, the dragon stopped its flight and unleashed another one of its gigantic fire blaze. The arch-mage accepted his challenge.
"Okay, mutant dragon thing... Let's see which one is better. Your fire blaze or my sound devastation!!"
Thank god I didn't hear that. That name is terrible.
VWUUUUNNGGGG!!!!!!!!!
The arch-mage opened the lid on the ball in his palms, and a large soundwave came out from that small lid, removing the fire blaze coming at him completely. It kept on going until it struck the dragon. This time, the dragon isn't getting thrown away.
The dragon looked back to see what is pushing it from behind, and it's another one of those sound balls.
Because there's two forces of push that are affecting the dragon mutant, it ended up not getting thrown away. Instead, the sound blasts that came from both directions are slowly shaking its molecules, slowly but surely destroying its scales bit by bit.
"Ohh... Clever."
I mumbled as the arch-mage focused on crushing the dragon using pure force. The dragon is unaffected by the magic, but it is affected by the force of the magic. The scales started to crack, but on a very slow scale. This mutant dragon is definitely a powerful one.
Before long, the arch-mage stopped his attack and captured his breath.
"Okay... That was my most powerful attack... Hah... And this thing isn't even that damaged!?"
The arch-mage looked quite tired. He lost a ton of energy from all that, and the dragon chimera only got affected quite a bit.
"You know, that was a clever idea. Using the force of your magic to kill it."
I said as I removed the ear muffler that looked like a black headset from my head. I formed a shadow platform for the two of us to stand on.
"… Now just sit down and let me try something."
After hearing that from me, the arch-mage sat at the black platform floating in the sky and laughed.
"Be my guest."
I nodded at him and flew closer to the dragon chimera. The mutant dragon is still quite fazed from the sound attack that cracked his scales, but overall he is still healthy. His scales may be cracked a little, but his body looks normal and unscathed.
I arrived not too far from the dragon, and it looks like the mutant didn't seem to be wishing to rush at me. So, I continued.
I spread my hands to the left and right. Purple balls started to form around me, and each of them is the size of a ping pong ball.
This much shouldn't be annoying… right?
I turned my gaze downwards, to the city below me. Then I recalled how big the explosion were from the training grounds, and I can't help but feel worry about this distance.
Then maybe we should go higher?
"Hmm… All right. Let's bring this higher."
I threw one ping pong ball below the mutant dragon's feet. It stared at it confusingly, and then suddenly it exploded into an atomic bomb.

The sudden atomic bomb cleared out every single air in that area, even throwing the arch-mage into panic. After all, it was rather close to us, and I was a bit stupid for putting it that close without remembering its size.
But, the blast force ended up flings the dragon mutant up really high into the clouds while unleashing a large black cloud of explosion downwards. I watched as the mutant dragon flew like a bullet to the height limit, and I whistled.
"Woww... That's too high, but sure."
I ignored the giant mushroom cloud right in front of me and turned to face the arch-mage who just recovered from getting caught in the shockwave.
"I'll be going up."
I said to him before flying up to meet up with the dragon chimera. The thing is already flying again, but its legs are heavily wounded from the explosion, to the point where it's unrecognizable. When I arrived, the dragon chimera quickly glared at me in fear.
Fear, huh…?
"Well, don't just come scaring people around, then!"
The thirteen purple ping pong balls around me started to float around, and they all flew towards the dragon at high speed. The dragon chimera couldn't dodge. Its eyes simply watched as the thirteen purple balls stopped right next to it.
"... Seems like Xyphon is going to be loud for a little bit."
I lifted one hand and snapped my fingers.
FLICK!
The Emperor tier firebombs exploded, merging into a gigantic nuclear explosion in the skies.
