        My heart lurched into my throat as soon as Rory's words filled the air. I wanted to argue, to remind them that Eva wasn't part of this agreement and also had nothing to do with me since I'm only here to ensure Jason stays in line. However after Jason's eyes landed on me, everything I planned on saying disappeared, leaving my head feeling empty while my stomach kept flipping and flopping around.


I let out a small breath, swallowing emptily and suddenly feeling like I needed to run away. But I didn't give into that urge and tried to get my thoughts together as I awkwardly cleared my throat.


"Er…" I began, eyes darting between Rory and Jason. My mind was quick to point out that just like last night whereby he hadn't argued after Rory asked us to hug, right now, he wasn't arguing either. My heart was racing fast and I was forcing my mind to not start thinking hard on what that meant. I kept telling myself that as Jason's eyes felt like it was sucking me in.
