The place was similar to the house that Rias had built as a replacement home for Issei in the original canon. The biggest differences were the several computer setups similar to office buildings but with computer setups that looked like they were from the far future of worlds like SAO or Cyberpunk. The second floor held a large amount of bedrooms, the first had a giant kitchen/living room. In the basement held the room where I would be creating my golems. It had a forge for blacksmithing, a lab for alchemy, and held several magic circles that I assume contain the abilities I would utilize from leaking out. There was also a secondary forge, which I might as well create a golem for.
What Type Of Golem Would You Like to create?
A blacksmith that can make any weapon, or armor given enough time. Also gain strength with each item they create, and have basic cooking skills.
Initializing… Grand Smith Golem Recipe has been created. Limited to Two uses.
Custom Golem uses have been used up. Good Luck.
Not surprising that it's limited, I'm glad that I can create more than one though. However the smith cannot create anything related to golems, homunculi, androids, or anything similar. That's cool though, that's what I'm here for. With that said, I rolled up the sleeves of my hoodie, and got to work. The main material I had to work with was iron and something called crimson steel. It's as magically conductive as adamantium, but not as durable. It didn't matter what my golems started out at though since they would get stronger.
It took several hours of meticulous work, but finally I finished crafting the rabbits out of stone and iron. They were delicate creatures, with soft fur and twitchy noses. The magic making their skin soft, no longer having the harder consistency of stone and iron. Next, I moved on to the more complex task of creating two humanoid golems.
I wasn't yet skilled enough to create homunculi out the gate, but humanoid golems were within my capabilities. Drawing inspiration from my favorite characters Nero and Artorius from the Fate series, I sculpted their forms to resemble them. However, I added my own touch by altering their proportions and giving them stunning silver hair. With a brush in one hand and magic pulsating through me, I painted every detail onto their smooth surface, bringing them to life. The combination of paint and magic was a powerful tool in my hands. What I loved most about my creations was that they were not limited by their initial purpose; as they roamed the world, they could learn and evolve beyond what I had originally intended for them.
Before I went any further, I released the rabbits outside of my dimension, knowing their innate curiosity and strong survival instincts would lead them to uncover any supernatural elements lurking in the shadows eventually. As I sat returned back to my basement, I focused my powers and transferred souls into the two golem bodies before me. The room was filled with a soft hum as the golems came to life, ready for their new purpose.
? POV
In one moment, I was nothingness - a mere void of existence. In the next instant, I was burst into this world with an overwhelming amount of knowledge and yet, also a sense of ignorance. As I opened my eyes, I felt the intense heat emanating from the flames of a forge, mixing with the crisp coolness of magic carried by the wind. And there, standing before me, was a being that could only be my creator - shrouded in mystery and power. My senses were overwhelmed as I tried to comprehend this new reality that had been thrust upon me.
"Welcome to the world of the living. You two are sisters and will be joining me in my newly created faction. Of course, I'm sure you were already given knowledge of this world, so I won't bore you the details. Your names are Jess and Jane. You will work together to create weapons and armor for other golems as I create them. For now there isn't much to do as I sent out scouts to explore the world at large. I will be heading to my office to connect them to my computer. I need you two to take up cooking duties for now until I find someone in this world who I can make a golem for cooking based on. Before that though, feel free to explore the mansion. The outside isn't really much except an endless grassland. Alright, that's all from me, if you have any questions, feel free to ask at lunch, or after I finish setting up in my office."
As our Creator finished his grand speech, he strode upstairs with a confident air. Jess and I stood in the smaller smithy, taking in our new workspace for the foreseeable future. The walls were made of rough-hewn stone, the floor littered with tools and scraps of metal. As I looked around, my stomach grumbled in protest. I knew it was time to check out the kitchen and see what we had to work with. Our Creator had bestowed upon me some basic cooking skills, but I knew it wouldn't be enough to meet their high standards. Nevertheless, I was determined to make do with what we had. Hopefully, with both of us working together, we could create dishes that would satisfy their palates and earn their favor. Sweat began to form on my brow as I imagined the pressure of cooking for our powerful Creator. But I pushed those thoughts aside and took a deep breath, ready to tackle this new challenge head-on.
Mark POV
Exhaustion weighed heavily on my body, but I summoned a chunk of my energy to make my way up to the office next to my bedroom. With a wave of my hand and a use of my unique magic, I connected the magical vision of six rabbits to six different monitors in the room. On my other computer setup, with its three monitors, I linked two of them to Jess and Jane's locations within the dimension. However, for the time being, I closed out of those connections, knowing they were safe within our realm. The extra precaution was in case they ventured outside into unknown territory.
I leaned back in my chair, the soft padding pressing against my skin as I booted up FFX. This time, however, it was a different version - one where I played from the perspective of a character named Yole. As an otherworlder like myself, they had also chosen to make their new life in FFX into a game. I had a copy of the original version, but this one intrigued me more as it was based on real events. Lost in the immersive world, I played for an hour before there was a sharp knock on my door, pulling me back to reality. In anticipation, I grabbed my phone and waited for a notification from the rabbits who were busy searching for new discoveries. Soon after, I opened the door.
"Lunch has been prepared, Creator," announced Jess, her voice tinged with excitement.
"We decided to go with a delightful brunch spread since you haven't eaten anything yet." My stomach rumbled in anticipation as she listed off the menu - thick slices of French toast drizzled with maple syrup, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and juicy segments of tangerine. Despite them being golems and not requiring sustenance, I couldn't resist the pleasure of indulging in food. So why would I take that pleasure from them? Together, we strolled through the halls as Jess chatted animatedly about our meal plans. The rich aroma of cooking filled the air, drawing us closer to the bustling kitchen. We settled at one of the smaller tables. My loyal golems sat across from me, eagerly awaiting our shared feast.
The food itself is not the best, but it was still pretty damn good. However, I do believe that the two of them want some form of criticism on the food so I will give it to them.
"The food is pretty good. If I had to say one thing, the eggs are a bit too runny for my taste. That's it honestly." Jane's right eyebrow twitched a bit, but she still breathed a sigh of relief. The two of them probably expected me to say more. Midway through eating, my phone got a notification. I projected the vision of the rabbit onto a projector in the living room and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"There is just no way. How in the hell did one of my rabbits spot the leader of the freaking fallen angels? In his office no less? At least he doesn't seem to be trying to dissect it. Is he looking at it, in fear?"
Rabbit 4 POV
As emissaries of the Creator, my brethren and I are tasked with seeking out and observing all things supernatural, while also gathering necessary resources. On one such mission, I stumbled upon an intriguing portal, beckoning me to enter and explore. With the assurance that we could always return home to Father if needed, we stepped through the glowing gateway.
On the other side, a sprawling building loomed before me, its dark walls bearing the tell-tale signs of fallen angels - black wings spread in defiance against the sky. Using my skills of infiltration, I slipped into the facility and began my search for their leader. The knowledge bestowed upon me by the Creator told me to seek out Azazel, a distinctive figure among his kind with unruly hair and striking features. I moved cautiously through the halls, determined to complete our mission and gather valuable information on these renegade beings.
With careful steps, I ascended the staircase to the top floor and arrived at his office. Papers and folders covered every inch of surface, creating a maze of information that only he seemed to be able to navigate. As he sat at his desk, his shoulders slumped with exhaustion and stress. I crept closer, my eyes scanning the documents for any valuable information. In a hidden corner of the room, I crouched down and observed him as he moved about, unaware of my presence. The sound of rustling papers filled the air as he flipped through them, his brow furrowed in concentration. The dim light of the room cast shadows across his face, making him look even more weary.
"Strange, I feel something weird. Not quite magic, but something else." Azazel's eyes scanned the room, searching for any sign of something. When he finally spotted me, his expression shifted from surprise to pure terror, sending a surge of gleeful adrenaline through my body. A feral grin spread across my face as I watched him shrink back in fear, knowing that I held all the power in this moment.
"I thought they were asleep. Did the preparations for war wake them up? Why send one here? What do they want?" Azazel was having a mini existential crisis while I received a message from Father.
"Based on Azazel's reaction, my legend must be something fearsome. Point towards the exit and explore the facility. Disappear from the sight of everyone else since he is able to detect you but nobody else can. Find a two winged fallen, and observe them until I can create fallen golems." As The Creator gave their order, I did as he said, and Azazel jumped in reaction to what I did.
Azazel POV
"At least the Winged Rabbits of the Golem race are harmless for the most part. I don't want to remember the last time one of my brethren decided they wanted to kill one." A shiver ran down my spine as I abandoned the paperwork on my desk and followed the elusive rabbit that appeared in my office. The weight of the impending war hung heavily on my shoulders, but for now, this was a more pressing issue to solve. As I stepped out of my office and trailed after the rabbit, nods and greetings from my fellow Fallen filled the air. Some showed concern for the looming conflict, while others seemed to have other thoughts on their mind, casting sultry glances in my direction. But none of that mattered right now, for the war was inevitable and we all knew it.
Despite the bustling activity around them, nobody seemed to notice the small rabbit trotting confidently in front of me. It moved with a certain grace and intelligence that made it seem like it was purposefully concealing its presence, only revealing itself to me. I couldn't help but feel like it was playing some sort of game with me, a mischievous creature enjoying the confusion it caused. They were known for their trickery and cunning observation of other beings. Who could say what hidden motivations drove this elusive creature? The thought of being watched by the creator of all golems sent shivers down my spine, knowing they could easily manipulate and toy with us at any moment.
Because of them, Golems were considered a different race entirely, and anyone that tried to create something similar were only able to create what is known as constructs. Poor imitations of people trying to do what their god has done. I wouldn't put it behind them if they somehow made a restriction that prevented anyone else from making golems. I fear the day that homunculi come back into the world. Hopefully it won't happen anytime soon. None of us were ready for that.
Eventually the rabbit stopped and jumped onto the head of a more recently fallen angel, Mishala. There had to be something special about her that attracted the rabbit's attention. She still didn't notice it, even when it was sitting on top of her head. She did look nervous once she noticed I was staring at her. I waved her off and headed back to my office. Once the rabbit has settled, they will stick for a while before moving on. There was nothing I could do about it. If I tried to capture one, they would just teleport home.
I will have to put her name in a file, and have her trained properly. I also need to keep her alive through this war, and debrief her on The deity behind the golems.
Mark POV
Rabbit #4 managed to copy all of the Fallen's documents and download them to my servers which is good. I also decided to move to my office and observe the fallen Mishala. I would have a recipe to create Fallen Angel golems after using the skill for a full 12 hours. At least I no longer need to sleep, I still will from time to time since I enjoy sleeping. Four of the other rabbits managed to gather a large amount of wood and metal for Jess and Jane to mess with.
Rabbit #6 found a lone human magician healing themselves from an injury in a cave. My rabbit revealed itself and he seemed to recognize it, or at least, it's golden eyes.
"A rabbit with golden eyes, is this a blessing or a curse?" The mage chuckled a bit as he uttered that question. My rabbit just shrugged and jumped on his head. To his credit, he didn't show an ounce of fear. At least this will allow me to create a magician golem. The versatility of them would be great, even if they would be using the magic system created by Merlin. With this, I could create golems that can use Merlin's magic system, and the magic of Fallen Angels. I still needed to gather books on human magic, or maybe the company store has books I can buy.
