Chapter 415 - Chapter 416: A Trade with Landorus

While Landorus was still pondering what to offer in exchange for his Reveal Glass, Professor Birch had already passed along Rex's message to the Hoenn League leadership.

The fact that Landorus had sought out Rex didn't surprise the League at all. They weren't envious of Rex for capturing Tornadus and Thundurus either.

After all, the Forces of Nature were essentially a single unit. Though they didn't always travel together, whenever one of them got into trouble, the others would inevitably come to help.

This pattern had been recorded multiple times in the League's history. With Tornadus and Thundurus's notoriously fiery tempers, clashes with people or Pokémon were almost inevitable.

Most of the time, they emerged victorious—but occasionally, as in the case of Rex, they were defeated.

In those moments, Landorus would appear to clean up the mess. With his immense strength and power to enrich the land, he could usually pacify even the angriest of opponents.

Still, the League hadn't expected Rex to convince all three to help restore Hoenn's barren lands.

When it came to Birch's request—to assign someone to guide the Forces of Nature to the right regions—the League found itself in a bit of a bind. Choosing the right person wasn't easy.

It wasn't just about escorting Landorus—dealing with Tornadus and Thundurus too made it significantly more difficult.

If they sent someone too weak, they'd never earn the trio's respect. Tornadus and Thundurus might pretend to cooperate only to vanish at the first opportunity.

"I'll go."

The meeting room fell silent when Elite Four member Glacia spoke up.

She wasn't usually one to volunteer for troublesome tasks. In fact, she avoided them whenever she could.

But this time, she already had plans to visit Rex Farm—accepting this task would just be an added bonus.

More importantly, Glacia was genuinely interested in battling the Forces of Nature.

She still hadn't forgotten the helplessness she'd felt when even her full team couldn't break through the outer waterspout during the recent disaster.

She wanted to measure her strength against theirs directly and see just how large the gap was.

With her strength, Glacia would at least be able to stand on equal footing during negotiations. The League quickly approved her offer, and she set off for Rex Farm without delay.

Back at the farm, Landorus had finally made his offer—an exchange Rex found very satisfactory.

Although the Forces of Nature had never deliberately hoarded treasures, their long lifespans meant they'd stumbled across rare items from time to time.

Landorus offered Rex an unidentified Mega Stone and a Mystic Water.

Rex gladly accepted, handing over the Reveal Glass.

He'd hoped to get something substantial out of the deal, but he also knew when to stop. Trading away an item useless to him for a Mega Stone and a battle item was already a great deal.

The new Mega Stone brought his collection to three. Even though he didn't yet know which Pokémon it belonged to, any Mega Stone was a treasure in its own right.

The Mystic Water, while not as valuable, would still be useful—Rex planned to give it to Milotic to boost her power even further.

As the leader of many sea-dwelling Pokémon, Milotic's strength needed to match her authority.

Landorus, though technically swindled out of two valuable items, didn't mind. He hadn't really needed them—he'd just kept them because they looked nice.

Holding the Reveal Glass again, Landorus was clearly relieved. He vowed never to let it out of his sight again. From now on, even in deep sleep, he'd merge it with his body to prevent theft.

Seeing the glass once more, Tornadus and Thundurus couldn't hide the longing in their eyes—especially Tornadus, who had experienced the incredible power of his Therian Forme.

Almost as if to rub it in, Landorus didn't fuse with the glass immediately. Instead, he twirled it around in front of them, showing it off like a prize.

It drove the other two mad. They wanted to snatch it right then and there—but with their injuries, even working together, they couldn't challenge Landorus.

So they could only grit their teeth and endure. But deep down, they made a silent vow: if the chance ever came, they'd give Landorus a taste of his own medicine.

With the Reveal Glass now traded for a Mega Stone, Rex had no intention of monitoring the trio anymore. He trusted Landorus to keep them in check.

To identify his new Mega Stone, Rex immediately contacted Professor Sycamore in Kalos.

The professor was surprised to hear from him—it wasn't every day someone called just to identify a Mega Stone.

Even more surprising was that Rex had acquired another one so soon.

In Kalos, even getting a single Mega Stone was incredibly difficult. Many elite families held onto theirs as sacred heirlooms.

And now Rex had collected two in less than half a year. Not just any stones, either—rare ones.

After a thorough examination, Sycamore confirmed the stone was a Gyaradosite.

While not as rare as a Salamencite, the Gyaradosite was still immensely valuable.

A Salamence might be hard to obtain, but Gyarados could be raised with enough patience and Magikarp.

Even if Rex's descendants didn't inherit his talents, they could still raise strong Gyarados—and with the Keystone and Gyaradosite, maintain a powerful legacy.
