Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: Pair of Idiots

A Few Minutes Ago:

As the moon's silver light shined in the starry sky, Skysin and Crim walked along the large hills of the Sandy Sun Dunes. Blue cacti standing in very odd shapes and different sizes, having what seems to be surprised expressions, almost.

"Dammit," Crim cursed, kicking sand, "we practically ran around the entire outer sector. And still no luck."

Skysin rubbed the back of his head, pondering, "…there's gotta be some other way to find 'em."

"Let's try my way real quick."

"What's that?"

Crim pointed to the dark sky above, "we're gonna catch a birds-eye-view."

Skysin looked towards the clouds, then at Crim, "why didn't you think of that earlier...? Dumbass…"

"Shut up…" Crim snorted, "I thought we'd find 'em." Crim shrugged, smirking, "maybe you're too slow?"

Skysin scoffed, mumbling to himself, his shoulders slouched, "too slow my ass."

"Yeah-yeah monkey man, let's go," Crim took a hold of Skysin's wrist, white flames blowing from under his feet. The two took off into a ray of white, shooting high into the sky, flying over the broad area of the Sandy Sun Dunes, overlooking everything.

"This is pretty damn cool, never flown so high before!"

"I don't really do this a lot because I have a ship, but I forget how nice it feels," Crim replied, looking around, "do ya see anything weird though?"

Skysin's violet eyes began to scope the area, looking for anything that may come off as weird or suspicious. Even the smallest thing could help. As Skysin continued, his violet eyes had broadened like a hawk catching sight of its next prey. Four dark figures standing before a large hill, greater in size than the others.

"Hey! Something just under us!" Skysin spoke, pointing right at them.

Crim came to a stop, eyeing where Skysin directed, "that must be them…looks like there's others involved too."

"How should we get to 'em then? They see us, our chances are slim if they let the others know."

"We don't know where they're really located yet… but more than likely they'll have to hotwire all the ships to even start 'em," Crim spoke aloud, "best chances are to be discreet."

"Like assassins…or ninjas!"

"Fine…but whoever gets caught owes the other a hundred ruphes."

"You're on!"

The two quickly landed back onto ground, a few meters away, quietly making their way to the group of four. Flipping to and behind cacti, discreetly crawling along the ground, tipping and toeing closer to their enemies.

The two lay along a hill, just a few feet from the opposing group. Crim looked towards Skysin, whispering, "we gotta take two at once, and fast so the others don't get warned."

Skysin grinned, "sweet and easy, they won't even see me."

"Ready?"

"Hell yeah…"

Skysin and Crim lunged, Skysin already taking the lead in a mere second, fixing his body for lethal kick to the face. Skysin's foot aimed at the one closest to their position.

Skysin, however, went right through the figure, landing on the ground. The person's body phasing in and out, almost like a projection.

'What the hell? They're not real?' Skysin asked himself.

*EEEEEEEEEEP*

Skysin looked down at his feet, and that's when it finally kicked in, "I'm so cook—"

*KABOOOOOOOOOOM*

A monumental explosion had set off, smoke shooting high into the air like a giant mushroom. Crim was propelled back as he shielded himself, sand and cacti being sent all over the place, it was as if a ship had fired a giant missile!!

Down below in the lair as it shook, all the thieves had looked up. Rocks and sand hitting the floor, weapons and tools being knocked off tables.

Geiz had looked to Fender, "that was the explosive vestige we set! They know we're here boss…!"

Fender cursed under his breath, and looked to his gang, pointing at some, "Geiz, and you three, hold them back if more push forward. We need to get these ships started."

"Right!"

Back above, there was nothing but sand, a gigantic crater where the fake men all stood, and the large hill. However, a body had sat up, letting the salty rocks fall from him. It was Crim!

Crim shook his head, his crimson hair shooting sand from all sides, "damn…it's a good thing I'm resistant to heat from explosives too."

"Oh crap—" Crim hastily stood, running to the large body of smoke still flowing, "yo—Sin, you okay dude?"

The smoke had begun to dissipate, and heavy coughs could be heard, as if an old man had some sort of sickness.

Skysin was shown, clothes and everything still intact. Yet his golden hair is frizzy, he looked like some sort of mad scientist. And as if he seen all his life's memories.

Skysin coughed, smoke flying from his mouth, "…yeuh…just…a bit shocked…" Skyisn coughed again, fixing his hair, walking from the crater.

Crim crossed his arms, whistling, "damn dude, what're you? A goddamn tank?"

"I was lucky to react fast enough and cover myself in aura…" Skysin looked to the sky, and back to Crim, "I think I almost shit myself."

There was silence, and the wind calmly blew through their hair.

"You…didn't did you?"

"I hope not."

"You don't wanna check or something…?"

"As long as I don't smell it. I'll take my chances," Skysin gave a thumbs up.

Crim pinched his nose, "let's get this over with…"

"Agreed."

The two approached the large hill, standing before it.

Crim raised his hand towards it, and something blocked it, stopping his hand from even touching the sand. A red, glowing force field had slowly phased into existence, lightly humming.

"A shield vestige huh…? Just what we needed. Well, we're at the right spot for sure."

"Figured that out when I exploded…"

Crim and SKysin merely gazed at it, a bit stuck.

"So how the hell we get in?"

"I think I got an idea. If it's not entirely too strong now…" Skysin raised his hand, pressing his palm against the force field. Suddenly, the air grew chilly, and thin ice slowly crept along the protective lair of energy.

"Alright…" Skysin brought his fist back, and punched it, breaking the force field down, shattering like glass. And everything was revealed, showing a set of two large metal doors, obviously the entrance to the labyrinth.

"Hm…so it was a mirage too?" Crim hummed, "nice, must've been weakened from that explosion. I guess one good thing came from it."

Skysin and Crim opened the doors as they dragged along the floor, roughly. The two gazed into a large, open area, a multitude of tents and beds, tables with chairs. Stalagmites are set on the ceiling, with thick columns of rock. Small gems glowing above, giving light to the broad district.

"So, they live here too? Talk about tent city…" Skysin quipped as the two slowly entered.

As the two passed the tents, they came to see four figures, standing in front of another part of the labyrinth, taking them deeper inside. It was Geiz, along with three other members of the gang.

Geiz stepped forward, making wind gyrate her body, "you two need to leave. Or this place is gonna be your grave too."

"Oh…I remember now," Skysin pointed to her, "that voice, you're the one that stole the ships huh?"

Geiz ignored Skysin's remark, the wind around her growing more aggressive, "like I said, back off."

Crim scoffed, "no chance, I'm gettin' my damn ship back."

No other words were spoken, the opposing team of thieves glaring at the pair of superpowered idiots. Skysin and Crim looked at each other, stretched their limbs, and faced their adversaries.

Skysin grinned, "we're gonna kick your asses now."

The group of thieves fired rays of elements as Skysin and Crim lunged right to them.

The boys swiftly pivoted away from each other. Skysin went left, Crim to the right, the beams of elements shooting right past them, crashing into other objects. The boys were parallel and leapt right to their enemies, shooting a punch.

Skysin's fist flew right to Geiz' face, yet she hastily weaved under as Skysin's hand shot through the hood of her cloak.

Geiz blew gusts of wind from her feet, moving back as another member dipped towards Skysin, aiming his knife at the boy's stomach.

Simultaneously, Skysin slammed his elbow and kicked his knee up, crushing the guy's wrist, making him drop his knife.

The man had clenched his wrist as he groaned and Skysin swept a low kick onto the man's ankle, knocking him into the air. Skysin swiftly got back to his feet, spinning in with a hook, crashing his fist right onto the man's chest, shooting him straight into a pillar, breaking it down with no problem.

A sharp whistle pierced the air and Skysin's ears reacted like a fox, turning towards the source of the sound. His violet eyes tracked several arcs of wind flying towards him like a hawk.

Skysin flipped over the first, twisting past the next, and rolled under the last. He quickly hopped from the balls of his feet, speeding over to Geiz, cutting the distance in just a mere instant!

'SO FAST!!!' Geiz' had yelled in her thoughts, utterly baffled by what she just witnessed. Watching Skysin quickly spin forth a kick, 'I can't dodge!!'

Skysin drove the rear of his shoe onto Geiz' neck, knocking her straight through multiple tents, smashing into the wall. Skysin aimed his hand towards her position, firing shards of crystal ice.

Powerful gusts of wind had roared, blasting everything in its radius away with ease. A huge ball of wind had slowly dissipated from existence, and a pair of black shoes landed onto the ground.

Skysin looked as if he seen the largest, most tender chicken leg in the world. Gazing at a gorgeous young woman, with a very well-developed body, her big blue eyes glaring at him. The young man was shaken to the core.

'She's so damn hot…' Skysin thought to himself, nearly falling to his knees.

Crim himself held his own against his opponents.

Just as one fired a pillar of water, Crim quickly swiped his arm, white flames trailing behind, slicing through it like butter. All the clear liquid evaporating in an instant.

"Shit…" The man gritted his teeth.

Crim made flames explode under his feet, shooting to the man under a second.

Just as the man raised his elbows, Crim maneuvered, flipping over him.

Directly above the man, Crim fixed his posture, head facing the ceiling, legs crouched. Crim shoot his legs down, dropkicking the man straight into the ground! Debris of rock and dust cast into the air!

"Alright, that's one," Crim stated to himself, landing back to the ground.

Until he felt another presence. His grey eyes seen orange and yellow light heading straight to him.

A volley of flames!

Crim made his own flames, and leapt, flipping and spinning past each ball of fire that was sent. Yet Crim did the same, he fired his own barrage as he dodged each attack!!

The man raised his arms, but it was no use. Crim's attack took him down on the first hit, exploding into a firework of white fire.

Meanwhile, Skysin eyed the pretty girl, Geiz, as she stood before him. Keeping a glare that could exorcise a ghost.

'I need to finish this, fast,' Geiz thought to herself, taking a step forward. 'I can't match with his speed. And his friend is trouble too... should I use what Fender gave me?'

Suddenly, the three heard footsteps from the entrance, gathering all their attention, coming to see the familiar silhouette grow closer.

"Skysin?" A girl's soft voice called out, "why're you here??"

It's Nebula!
