Synopsis: Everyone has to start somewhere, especially for those who just received their first buddy rare. Join Shiloh as she begins her first lesson in buddyfighting.
In the previous story, Natalie was wandering in a hallway before stumbling upon her opponent. Shiloh appears before her and once again a match has begun. However, despite Natalie having more experience, Shiloh was able to defeat her, scoring a win for her side.....
Anime Opening: Knock On Your Gate.
In One of the Rooms in The Sanctuary, two fighters are about to face each other in a match. Their buddies are standing beside them.
Hou Ren: Okay Shiloh, now that you got your first buddy, it's time to prepare for the worst. So, are you ready for your first lesson?
Shiloh: Yep. And I'm going to surpass you.
Hou Ren: Slow down. Now, do you have your deck with you?
Shiloh: (Shows her deck) Right here.
Hou Ren: Great. (Creates a Playmat) I assume you know about the rules?
Shiloh: Yes I do. I've learned from my brothers.
Hou: Then show me what you got. (Hold out his deck) Howl with Thunder. Knights Of Great Flash. Luminize, Thunder Knights Reborn.
Shiloh: Once Upon A Time, the Maiden Blossoms Bright. Luminize, Folktale Wonderland.
Garga: Buddy...Fight.
Both: Raise The Flag.
Shiloh: Dungeon World.
Hou Ren: Dragon World.
Garga: First move goes to my Buddy.
Hou: Draw. Charge & Draw. I call Thunder Knights Vice Captain, Goldion Halberd to the right & Thunder Knights Dragoarcher to the left.
Both Monsters are summoned, making Shiloh Surprised.
Hou: Consider it as me being unpredictable. And I always wanted to try using the Thunder Knights for a while. With Archer's effect, I draw one card. Equip...(Pays 1 life & 1 gauge)
Hou equips an upgraded and striker version of Dragobreaker.
Hou: Thunder Knight's Striker, Dragobreaker. With this, all Thunder Knights Monsters gain critical +1. Halberd, attack Shiloh.
Halberd: Yes Sir. (Attacks)
Shiloh's Life: 10 -> 7
Hou: Final Phase.
Shiloh: WHAT?
Hou: (Release a Mega Set Spell) Set Impact. Tempest Thunder Knights Formation! And now my turn is over.
Shiloh: Woah...Talk about a rough start. But wait, won't people usually call one monster during their first turn? And why is your Impact a set card?
Hou: True, but you don't necessarily have to call one monster at the start. And Impacts don't necessarily have to be Critical K.O.s. They can be set cards too.
Shiloh: I see. I've seen my brothers play but I don't usually see this occur.
Hou: Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it. Now, it's your turn. Show me what you got.
Shiloh: Draw. Charge & Draw. Let's see, I call Man-Eating Wolf, Wolff to the right. And Hunter Jordan to the left.
Both Monsters: You called us, Mistress?
Shiloh: And Now, I buddycall Moonlight Fleur, Emma REB to the right.
Emma appears and boy she's flying so happily like on a Sunday Morning. Her smile is like the shining moonlight, just like the name itself.
Emma: Woohoo. I finally get to Buddyfight. I won't let you down, Shiloh.
Hou: Hmmm...A wolf, a hunter...(realizes) Oh!!! Just like the fairy tale, the Little Red Riding Hood.
Shiloh: With Jordan's effect, I draw a card. I equip... (Equips a Book) Echt Biblio.
Hou: (Confused) A book?
Garga: That's Unusual...
Hou: But wait. Her center's occupied. So why equip an item?
Shiloh: You'll find out soon enough.
Hou: In that case, Halberd. Move to the center.
Halberd: (Moves) I will protect you, Master Hou Ren.
Hou: When Goldion Halberd moves, I destroy Wolff.
Halberd stabs the ground and Wolff is getting destroyed from below.
Wolff: CURSES. (Destroyed)
Shiloh: With Wolff's effect, I destroy Dragoarcher too. Payback time hehe.
Hou: Sadly you cannot. Dragobreaker's second ability prevents all Thunder Knights from being destroyed by effects. Abilities cannot be nullified.
Shiloh: Say what?
Hou: With Tempest Thunder Knights effect, When a thunder knight moves, I draw one card.
Hou: Fine. Jordan & Emma, Link attack on Halberd instead.
Both: (Attacks) Right!!!
Shiloh: With Emma's effect, I place one from my drop into Biblio's soul. I draw a card afterwards. (Does So)
Halberd: I won't go down so easily. (Counter Attacks)
Halberd combats both monsters. The two attack from different sides, but Halberd holds his ground as he swings his spear and blocks with his shield. However...
Emma: (Swings her basket full of candies) Take this.
The candies fall off and blinds the latter. Jordan lands the dagger and...
Halberd: I failed...(Destroyed)
Shiloh: Nice one. Emma. Double attack on Mr Fancy Pants over there.
Hou: Who are you calling Fancy Pants. I cast. Blue Dragon Shield. (Blocks)
Shiloh: Man...My turn is over. I couldn't deal a single damage...I suppose being the Ace of Games has it's perks.
Hou: Not quite.
Shiloh: Huh?
Hou: My title has nothing to do with it. All I did was estimate what you would do and prepare myself for defense. Which is why I moved Halberd to the center and used his ability to reduce your number of attacks.
Garga: And earlier, when you successful destroyed it, Hou knew that you would go solo now that his center is open. That's when he used Blue Dragon Shield to block.
Shiloh: Oh...
Hou: Even if you can't predict what your opponent would do, it's important to at least observe & estimate what you can do for defense. As the saying goes, "Fortune favors the Prepared".
Shiloh: I see.
Garga: But not to worry, you did well too. You increased your hand for defense when you used Jordan & Emma's abilities. Question is, Are you prepared for what is coming?
Shiloh: Hmmm...
Hou: Let's find out. Draw. Charge & Draw. I call Thunder Knights, Rising Flare Dragon to the right. (Does So) With Rising Flare's effect, I destroy Emma.
Rising flare roars out loud and Emma is out as a wind hurricane is blasted from below. However, she revives with soulguard.
Shiloh: Are you okay?
Emma: No worries.
Hou: I discard the top 3 cards of my deck. (Does So) And I draw a card afterwards. And Now I cast, The Skies in your hands. (Pays 1 gauge)
All of Hou's monsters are being returned to his hand. Shiloh's shocked.
Hou: You haven't seen anything yet. Cast, Dragonic Charge Plus. (Gains 2 gauge) I call Rising flare again to the left.
Rising Flare appears.
Hou: Once More.
Rising Flare roars aloud and Emma is being targeted.
Emma: I'm sorry Shiloh. (Destroyed)
Shiloh: Emma!!! (Thought)
Garga: (Impressed) Huh...Quite a combo.
Hou once again discards and draw a card.
Hou: It's your turn now. I buddycall to the right.
Garga: (Appears) All are powerless before my blade.
Shiloh: Wait what? Why is Garga?
Garga: This is my original form. The original deity of combat to be precise.
Shiloh: Moreover...two size 2s??? Aren't you over the size limit.
Hou: With my Impact's effect, All Thunder Knights Monsters have their size reduce by one. Meaning Rising Flare is now a size 1. Playtime's over. Rising Flare, Attack Jordan.
Shiloh: Not so fast. Echt Biblio's effect, I move Jordan to it's soul. (Opens Book)
Jordan is sucked into the book.
Hou: Wha? You kidding me? In that case...
Hou raises Dragobreaker up high and it's suddenly charged by Lightning. Hou attacks with it and delivers the blow at the latter.
Shiloh: OWWW....
Shiloh's Life: 7 -> 5
Shiloh: Can't you show mercy?
Hou: Sorry but this how an actual fight goes. Garga.
Garga: Leave it to me. (Attacks)
Shiloh's Life: 5 -> 3
Garga: Double attack.
Shiloh: I cast. Quiescence of Cassiade. (Reduce Damage)
Hou: My turn isn't over yet. G-EVO Activate. Change. Gargantua Dragon Cyclone Mode.
Garga: (G-EVO) Cyclone....Mode.
Shiloh: Woah...You don't mean...
Hou: Garga can attack again. Sorry Shiloh, but it's game over for you. (Rests Garga)
Garga attacks once at high speed. It hits.
Shiloh's Life: 3 -> 1
Garga attacks again.
Shiloh: I cast. Divine Protection of Shalsana. (Blocks)
Hou: Cyclone Mode has triple attack.
She's in shock & Garga triple attacks.
Shiloh: Cast. Thunder Bolt Marked Urn. (Blocks)
Garga: (Stops) She's not bad. She timed her defense spells perfectly.
Hou: (Smiles) My turn is now over.
Shiloh: What can I say. I learned a few things from you. And It's like they say "A wise king never seeks out war..."
Hou: "but must always be ready for it". You watched Thor Ragnarok huh?
Shiloh: Who doesn't? Anyways, you're going down. Draw, Charge & Draw. Once Again, I call Emma to the right.
Emma: (Appears) Here I am.
Shiloh: And now, I set Happiness Wonderland.
Hou: A set card too? Okay then Rising Flare. Move to the center.
Rising Moves.
Shiloh: Emma. Attack Rising Flare.
Emma: Got it. (Attacks)
Shiloh: With Emma's effect, I move one monster into Wonderland's soul. I draw a card and thanks to Wonderland's effect, I draw two more.
Shiloh draws and realizes what she got in a small shock. Hou, who caught that, becomes serious.
Hou: Not so fast. Dragonic Loop. (Returns Rising Flare to his hand)
Shiloh: Again??? (Childish) Why do you keep running away you coward!!! Grrr.
Hou: (Teasing) Sorry Not Sorry. But anyways, are you done?
Shiloh: Hmph. (Chuckles) Okay fine. Emma. Double attack on the fighter.
Shiloh also moves one monster into Biblio's Soul.
Hou: I cast. Green Dragon Shield. (Blocks)
Shiloh: Full Life Already? Doesn't matter. I cast, Reset Button. (Gauge becomes 4) Emma. Are you ready for this?
Emma: Do it Shiloh.
Shiloh pays 2 gauge and...
Emma: Godcape Dragon to the center.
Emma becomes Godcape Dragon.
Hou: Say wha?
Garga: Is that her true form?
Godcape: I gain 5000 power & I critical for each card in Biblio's Soul. In other words, 40000 power & 7 critical in total. And, with 3 or more cards included, my attack cannot be nullified.
Hou: 7???
Garga: Uh Oh.
Shiloh: Godcape. Attack Hou.
Godcape: Dragod's...(Breeds Fire) Breath.
Hou: (Braces himself) This is gonna hurt...
Hou's Life: 10 -> 3
Shiloh: There's more. I cast. Red Cape Brulee. Godcape Dragon ... (stands her) stands.
Garga: What? Another 7 critical that can't be blocked.
Godcape: This will finish you. (Breeds Fire)
Hou: I cast. Dragonic Heal Plus!!!
Hou's Life: 3 -> 8 -> 1
Shiloh: What?
Hou: If I can't defend, I can increase my life to survive.
Shiloh: But my turn isn't over yet. Biblio's effect. Marchen Panic. (Opens Book) Come On Out Everyone.
All of the Sudden, Emma, Jordan & Woff are revived???
Hou: HUH?
Shiloh: During my attack phase, I can call as many monsters from Biblio's soul. Meaning I get to attack again.
Hou: Uh Oh...
Hou looks at his hand, he only has one defense spell...
Hou: Oh Dear...
Hou Ren then look up and notice Shiloh smiling bright and excited.
Shiloh: This is so cool. Who knew buddyfight is so much fun.
The moment the word "fun" was heard, it echoed through Hou Ren's ears and soul. Hou Ren react in surprise as suddenly Shiloh becomes his younger self enjoying the game with confidence.
Hou Ren: (Thought) I..... (Smiling with tears) Who knew....
Garga notice Hou Ren's tears and was slightly worried.
Garga: Are you okay?
Hou Ren: (Wipe his tears off) I'm okay.....Well Shiloh, (Open Arms) Bring It On.
Shiloh: (Excited) You asked for it. Emma.
Emma: Leave it to me.
Emma attacks and delivers her final blow to the latter. Hou Ren got knockdown while smiling with his eyes closed.
Hou Ren: (Thought) It's been a while since I had a fight like this...
Hou Ren's flag is destroyed.
Shiloh: Wait....I won?
Moment of silence.....
Shiloh: I won....I WON!!!! (Starts cheering)
Emma came out of her card and starts congratulating her.
Emma: Yay Shiloh. You did it.
Hou Ren claps his hands while catching their attention.
Hou Ren: I hate to say it but Well-Done Shiloh. You beat me.
Shiloh: Hehe. I told you I would surpass you.
Hou Ren: (Teasing mood) Hey Now. I'm not using my real deck remember.
Shiloh: Yeah Yeah. You're such a sore loser.
Hou Ren: (Teasing) Who are you calling a sore loser eh?
Shiloh: (Smug) You.
Hou Ren: Okay I deserve that. And thank you.
Shiloh: For what?
Hou Ren: You also taught me a lesson. In buddyfight, it's also important to stay confident and have fun, no matter what the odds are.
Shiloh: Hehe. Maybe I should be the master instead of you.
Hou: (Smiles awkwardly) Really?
Garga: Haha. Excellent fight, you two. Now get some rest. You must be tired.
Shiloh: No. I want to fight again. Against a real opponent.
Hou Ren: What?
Shiloh: I feel brave after our match. I feel like can take someone on. I can do this.
Emma: I concur.
Hou Ren & Garga then notice their Aura glowing bright and stronger.
Garga: (Thought) Such potential.....(Thought)
Hou Ren: Hmm....(Opens up a screen) I suppose she can be a good fit. (Flips the screen around)
The screen shows Natalie walking in the hallways.
Hou Ren: Fight hard. Show your passion. Unleash your power.
Shiloh look at the screen and nod in agreement.
Shiloh: I won't let you down. (Runs off in different direction)
As Shiloh leaves, Hou Ren & Garga look at her with smiling confidence.
Garga: You know, she is quite like you when you first play the game. And you have become an excellent teacher.
Hou Ren: Knowing her, There's no denying that she's going to achieve great heights in future. And who knows...she might even surpass me.
