Aurora's heart froze as she stared at the creature wearing her mother's face. Her legs trembled, but she forced herself to stand tall.
"You're not my mother," she growled, gripping the Fang tighter. The silver-gold glow surged through her veins. "My mother died protecting me."
The thing smiled with Selene's lips. "Did I? Or did they just want you to believe that?"
Elias stepped forward, his hand finding Aurora's. Through their bond, she felt his strength flowing into her. "What do you want?" he demanded.
"To warn you," the creature said, taking a step closer. The pack tensed, ready to attack. "The ones coming for you aren't what you think they are."
"And what are they?" Dante asked, eyes narrowed.
"The Ancients. The first wolves." The creature's eyes glowed greener. "Your grandmother knew, Dante. She helped them."
Dante lunged forward, but Aurora caught his arm. "Don't," she whispered. "It's trying to divide us."
