"Shut up!" the mage roared, her voice piercing the battlefield. "You can play with chaos, Kali, but not me! I won't let everyone die because of your obsession!"
The ground shook. The colossal creature raised a massive arm, and the movement alone made the air vibrate like thunder. The impact toppled trees, smashed rocks, and sent waves crashing against the island's shore.
Xyn lunged forward, spitting a torrent of blue fire to counter the blow, but the arm came down anyway. The ground collapsed, opening a massive crater where dozens of lesser demons had once stood.
Rogue appeared, grabbing Xyn by the shoulders and pulling her up before she was crushed. Her face was gray, her eyes tired.
"Frieren is right!" she shouted. "This isn't a fight to win. It's to survive!"
