"I submit. I'll swear allegiance to the Lord of your Angel Race. Just don't kill me."
Zakaria's thinking was practical even in terror: submitting to a ruler who matched a peak Supreme God in power, who might one day claim the God King's Throne, wasn't degrading. It was positioning. An Intermediate-stage Supreme God serving a future God King, there was no loss here.
What he didn't want was to fall completely. At his tier, not even Svetlana, the Goddess of Fate could reverse the River of Fate and bring him back. Only a God Monarch could manage a resurrection of that magnitude, and no such being publicly existed yet. If he died, he would simply be gone. Erased from the universe.
Yvonne looked at him with those flat golden eyes and said, "The Almighty Lord is merciful. He won't kill you completely, you'll be given a new life. Stay still."
Zakaria's soul went rigid. He knew what this "new life" meant. He'd seen Maddox. He'd seen Kaelix and Zarek. He understood, academically, what awaited him, the Holy Grail, the Angel Reincarnation Pool, a soul scrubbed clean and rebuilt as a believer of Haru.
When he looked at Yvonne's expressionless face, the words didn't come out. She sealed his soul and collected the drop items—artifacts, blueprints, Power Stones, Godheads, the divine bodies of Gods whose vitality had been cut—and paused.
"I can feel it. Just a little more and I become a late-stage Supreme Goddess."
Killing Zakaria had pushed her to the edge of the threshold. Only a single layer of paper left. Once it was pierced, she would ascend further. She then activated the Space-Time secret art that Haru had given her and transferred directly to the third war zone.
…
In the third war zone, the situation had been stable in the worst possible way.
Nova held. Micteya and Mordra attacked. Neither side could break the deadlock. two early-stage Supreme Goddesses against one early-stage Supreme Goddess who refused to do anything except maintain a defensive wall through her Creation Law that apparently had no holes in it.
"There has to be a flaw." Mordra said, for what felt like the hundredth time, "The creation law can't be perfect. Keep looking."
"I AM looking—"
Then Mordra's expression changed. Micteya saw it and turned.
As Yvonne stepped into the third war zone, Mordra took one look and turned on Micteya, "Damn your Evil Pantheon! You idiots killed me!!"
Micteya: "…"
The Lich Lord's fall rippled outward through every watching faction simultaneously.
Castle lords at the edge of the battlefield were already calculating.
"An Intermediate-stage Supreme God killed solo. The exp from that alone must be extremely terrifying."
"And the drop items. That has to be a God-level blueprint."
"If it's a Lich type barracks blueprint, Haru definitely wouldn't use it. He'll auction it on the hyperspace channel and I'll definitely buy it."
"Also — did anyone notice she sealed his soul? They're going to resurrect him. The Great Aetherium is about to have a Lich Lord Supreme God."
A brief silence presided.
"I genuinely cannot keep up with how fast this empire grows."
In the world chat channel, the live feed from recording stones was doing numbers:
[That Supreme God Tier Angel… not only is she terrifyingly strong, she's beautiful enough to make anyone's heart stop.]
[Her wings are different from every other Angel. She's something else entirely.]
[The Goddess of Darkness and the Goddess of Death are going to fall next. And then the Great Aetherium will resurrect them too. Haru is going to end up with these two Supreme Goddesses as well.]
[I'm starting to think that Haru has 'bribed' the GM…]
…
The native gods processing what they'd just witnessed were quieter about it. Reverent, almost.
"In the Ancient Era, the entire Endless Continent was torn apart. Gods died by the thousands, but not one Supreme God fell completely."
"The Battle of Planets was the same. The only exception was the Aurora Goddess Amelie, besieged by multiple Demon Monarchs and gravely wounded, in the end she chose to self-seal the remaining part of her soul. Even then, it wasn't a true death."
"Today, for the first time in hundreds of thousands of years, a Supreme God has fallen. Zakaria Nekrosi, the Lich Lord. An Ancient God who has been cultivating for hundreds of thousands of years."
"I watched it happen and I still don't fully believe it."
"This moment is permanently burned into my memory."
