Before lunch, Shen Jiayin received a call from Mrs. Yao, hoping she could come over to help look after her little brother-in-law as she had to go out for a while. Shen Jiayin discussed with her husband about bringing her little brother-in-law over for a meal.
No one objected.
Jun Ye hadn't completely gotten rid of the smell of alcohol, so he ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth vigorously, afraid his brother would notice. Chen Xiaoyi planned to walk over with Jun Ye.
Peng Fang helped Shen Jiayin in the kitchen. Shen Jiayin went ahead of her husband, fearing her mother-in-law had something urgent, and waited for her at her house.
Mrs. Yao seemed in a rush; by the time she opened the door for her daughter-in-law, she already had her shoes on and was holding a bag, ready to leave.
"Jiayin, I'm counting on you." Mrs. Yao patted her daughter-in-law's shoulder.
"Alright," Shen Jiayin replied, "Don't worry, mom."
