Wang Hai was somewhat bewildered, unsure of what had happened to cause these sudden changes. Could it be that Afang didn't perform well after Fu Bo took her away today, leading Mr. Sun to think she was no longer valuable? That was possible, Wang Hai could only assume.
This poor girl, her fate as an abandoned pawn would undoubtedly be tragic.
Wang Hai was shocked to find himself actually worrying about Afang. Could Lan Juan have influenced him? The bigger issue now was figuring out how to explain it to Lan Juan.
Sure enough, when Lan Juan heard they were going to send Afang away, she burst out: "You're sending her away now? What do you want to happen to her? Do you want her to die?"
"Ah Juan!" Wang Hai quickly covered her mouth with his hand and dragged her into the bathroom, shutting the door behind them. He scolded her, "Yelling so loudly—are you trying to get us all killed?"
"I don't care. My life was saved by her. If she dies, I won't live either," Lan Juan said darkly.
