Elvis held his blades in reverse grip, they weren't normal blades, instead they were like short curved swords, almost like a dagger and each of them had this jagged look to them.

The group nodded their heads and soon after the wave of descenders from earlier had began running towards them.
Emax equipped his assault blaster, firing multiple shots, taking down descenders easily.
Elvis instead, charged forwards with his blades, this was one of the fighting styles they had practiced, Emax covered Elvis, while Elvis ran in to deal with the monsters meele style.
One of the descenders jumped towards Elvis, aiming to pounce on him and kill him in one attack.
Elvis slid under the belly of the descender, using both his blades to cut it open, causing the descender to fall to the ground.

'Nice.' Elvis thought to himself, if he killed enough beasts in here then maybe he could level up quick.
Leaping into the air, he came face to face with one of the descenders,swinging his blades with all the strength in his body, he cleaved its neck in a single attack.

Elvis hadn't even landed on the ground, when another descender jumped towards him, wanting to bite off his head.
Elvis lodged both blades into the head of the descender, at this point he had begun panting.

Sure he was a mutant, but at the end of the day he was only 7 times stronger than a normal human, the skin of descenders weren't weak.
Even though his blades were made from the toughest material on Earth, he still needed to pour in all of his energy into one swing to kill the descenders.
It was ironic how tough skinned descenders were, after killing them, their body would just vanish into pixels.

Elvis groaned, grabbing unto his side, a descender had clawed him, leaving deep claw marks in his skin, and that single attack had taken away 5 HP from him.
One more of that and he would be dead, well he would have to find a way to survive the wave of descenders coming for him now.
Elvis began sprinting backwards, while Emax kept the few descenders he could at bay.
Throwing a nerve wrecking grenade at the descenders, managing to buy Elvis a quick window of opportunity to escape.
"GG07." Elvis screamed out, alerting the old man of their danger.
The old man landed in front of them, with his eye patch covering his left eye and his right hand held out.
A blaster formed out of his right arm, releasing a violent stream of energy that killed 20 descenders.
The man didn't stop there, using his jet pack to take to the skies, he continued firing away in anger.
Emax stretched his right hand, causing a shield to expand from his ring, switching to his pistol blaster, he charged in after the man.
Elvis himself stood still, there was something else in his range of vision, something calling out to him.
His wounds had already stopped bleeding thanks to his mutation, but they were far from healing.
Out in the distance, amidst the chaos there was a descender who stood tall and proud, taller than the rest and this one seemed to have thicker fur.
'That must be the boss of this rift. ' Elvis thought to himself, gripping his blades tightly.
The boss of a rift was the main descender that had to be killed in order for the ascenders to reach the next level.
But the boss of the rift was also 5 times stronger than other descenders present in the rift.

Elvis could feel the speed increase in his body, he was going after the boss.
Once other descenders caught wind of what he was doing, they all ran in his direction, trying to protect their boss.
Elvis had expected this, in fact he was praying for this go happen.
"Emax now!!. " Elvis screamed at Emax, who already knew what his friend was trying to do.
Emax hurled an energy bomb at Elvis, who caught it mid air, throwing it back at the pack of descenders.

Elvis smiled on seeing the rewards of his little stunt, he had made those bombs himself, so he knew how much destructive power they packed.
What Elvis did was actually smart if analyzed properly, he knew he couldn't beat the boss at level one, so he decided to boost his level as much as he could in such a short time.
And the only way he knew to boost his level was to kill descenders, and what was the best way to kill a large amount of people? Set off a bomb in a populated area.
Which was why he charged towards the boss, he knew other descenders would chase after him, causing a cluster and the perfect opportunity to kill some descenders.
However, a few of the descenders had survived with major injuries, Elvis charged after those descenders, ignoring the boss.
With all his strength he cut off a descenders head, and this time it felt easier, the effects of his level up were showing in his strength.
