"Alright, talk to me." I said as I sat on my chair, "What news do you guys bring me."
I was in my war-room, sitting at the head of the massive table that had a map of the Lands Between carved into it. Around it, there were several high-ranking military officers in the Leyndell Army and several members of the political council who serve under me.
I wasn't much of a politician, but I could tell if these guys try to fuck me or something. They wouldn't, I'll simply cut them in half.
"Lord Brutalus." An armored Knight said, "If I may, what do you think will happen to the people of the Land now that the Erdtree is gone?"
I looked at him, "What do you mean?"
"I mean, that is the biggest worry of them all." He said, "The Erdtree and its grace, how will the balance sustain itself?"
I shrugged, "Grace is still a thing." I said, "The tree isn't. As simple as that."
A noble-looking guy cleared his throat, "I-I don't understand..." I said
"What?" I said as I leaned back, "Seriously? Look guys, the Tree was simply a damned parasite meant to suck out all the life of this world. It was sent here by an Outer God, that's all there is to it. With my interference, I took the parasite out and kept its byproduct; Grace. There's still a big-ass Grace out there, you just can't see it. It provides the Golden Light of Leyndell. I mean, if you're wondering how that's still a thing."
They all looked at me like I still didn't make any sense.
I sighed, "Man." I said leaning on the table, "With time, It'll make sense. But know this, any high-ranking member of my armies will become Blessed with Grace, meaning you'll have the benefits of The Tarnished, you can fall in battle but still return. However, I'm working on the chinks, so let's not get too hasty."
"I-I see...." one of the sorcerer-looking dudes said, "A-And when you declared to ressurect the souls that died on your journey, W-who did you mean? I mean, no offense. When you became Elden Lord and had the Union with Her Majesty, Queen Marika, plenty, and I mean, plenty of lost souls came back."
I leaned back to the chair, "Oh." I said, "Those I encountered and sadly died on my journey to become Elden Lord. That's all. Those others who came back are simply the effect of my decree; To Reshape this land. An Age of Rebirth, if you will. Plenty of people will be granted Second Chances. Only one caveat, Me. They serve me, and only me."
"So..." the armored knight said, "Does this mean your fallen enemies as well? I've seen some Crucible Knights sitting idle in the city. They seem peaceful."
"I've spoken to them." I said, "They'll be my guard just like they were with The First, remember, no name-dropping. But I'm revamping them, making them into different beasts. As for you Leyndell Knights, don't worry, you still keep your old kits, but I'll think about giving you guys different stuff if you wish."
The Knight nodded, "We appreciate it, My Lord." He said
I then stood up, "Alrighty, if that's all." I said clapping my hands, "I'll head to see my Wife. Call me if there's anything of major importance; I've sent several agents to deal with little inconveniences like Runebears rampaging on the towns and villages on the Plateau."
"Yessir." they all said
I turned around and walked away,
"Good."
