The chessboard was reset with the pieces, Leng Youchen took the black pieces, allowing Dora to move first. Dora moved one piece, Leng Youchen simultaneously moved another, and the battle instantaneously commenced.
While playing chess, Leng Youchen observed Dora closely. Each of Dora's moves was made with great caution—unhurried, calm, and composed. Even when her piece got captured, she remained unruffled, countering by capturing one of his pieces instead.
A few minutes later, the majority of their pieces were lying defeated on the chessboard. Dora captured one of Leng Youchen's pieces and remarked, "Mr. Leng seems distracted; that's not very fun."
Leng Youchen glanced at the few remaining pieces on the board and said, "Princess Dora, your chess skills are outstanding. I underestimated you."
Dora smiled slightly, "That's only because Mr. Leng was holding back; otherwise, my skills wouldn't be a match for you at all."
