Even though Li Juan was unwilling, she knew that Zhang Yu now was no longer the "poor person with no money" she used to think she was, so she had to butter her up.
She just hadn't expected that after Zhang Yu took back the house they'd been living in, she would actually renovate it.
At first she didn't take it seriously. After living there for so long, Li Juan really had a ton of complaints about that place.
"It's only because we've got good tempers that we never said how lousy that house was, otherwise no one would live there at all, and she actually charged 15 in rent." Thinking of the rent they'd paid over the years, Li Juan just felt heartache.
"And your mom too, now the rent here has gone up to 25." Li Juan admitted that after they moved back to the old place, the lighting was better, the neighbors were better, really much better overall; at least they didn't have to stay on guard all the time that stuff left outside would get casually taken.
