The sun had barely risen when I opened my eyes. A faint breeze slipped through the crack in the window, carrying with it the scent of dew-soaked grass and distant street vendors beginning their day. For once, my body didn't feel like it had been hit by a freight train. The bruise from the bridge incident still ached faintly, but I had adapted to the discomfort. Nothing I couldn't push through.
Today wasn't just any day. I could feel it, humming beneath my skin. Something important was coming.
I didn't waste a second. No stretching. No phone scrolling. I sat up, rolled my neck once, and summoned the System menu with a blink.
