[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Hogwarts.
...
...
In the middle of the dark forest, the sound of bladed claws and lightning began to be heard like metal striking against metal, while flashes lit up that area in the darkest part of the Forbidden Forest, where there was no being except its predator.
Severus struck with his two blades received from the demonic castle, one sideways and the other forward, while a completely dark creature appeared before him, trying to break through his defense to slice him into pieces.
But despite the disproportionate size between the two, the creature couldn't really push the young man.
Severus kept his muscles firm as the creature pressed against him. It was nearly seven meters tall, with very long arms and 50-centimeter claws, and a skeletal head surrounded by a strange mist.
The creature growled at Snape.
The creature had been awakened when Severus's shadows passed through the area as they headed in that direction. It quickly noticed the movement, trying to strike those things walking on the ground. It could even distinguish the soldiers' shadows from the shadows among the forest shadows moving on the ground, but the juggernaut failed to hit any of them, only striking the earth.
And it only stopped when it felt someone truly entering its territory. Already frustrated for not hitting anything until then, the Juggernaut charged forward to eliminate this new intruder.
Igris and Fawkes were in Snape's hands, and as soon as the creature approached, unlike before, Severus managed to stop its attack by summoning his blades.
A battle between blades and claws quickly began.
Now, Severus Snape stood firm, watching it. Then he gave a small smile.
"I still wonder what you are and where you came from. But now it doesn't matter. You're not as fierce as the last time we met." he said.
The creature backed away and quickly disappeared into a cloud of smoke. Severus moved his arm with precision, preventing the claw from hitting his face as the creature reappeared.
It had the ability to turn into mist and vanish, appearing in several places at once. It became invisible and could no longer emit any sound or smell—it was a strange dark camouflage magic.
Severus made his blades glow, lunged with a kick to the ground, dodging the first attack and managing to defend against the next from the creature before piercing its chest as he found an opening, causing black blood to spread across the area.
He stepped back as the creature screamed in pain before looking at him and vanishing again. Severus also disappeared the next moment.
Both began running through the forest, fighting each other as they tried to kill one another, exchanging blows at a speed no one else in this world could match. Trees were destroyed by the impact. They moved so fast that the forest only began to react after they had already passed, so fast they were.
"ROAAARRR!!" The creature's roar echoed, enraged by the pain Severus had caused in its chest and the frustration of not being able to kill him. Its sound was heard throughout the forest, causing other creatures, like centaurs, to go on alert.
But that didn't matter to Snape. The clash continued with rapid and brutal exchanges of attacks.
Juggernaut was truly powerful, and Severus would have met a certain death had he not come prepared. He barely escaped it last year, recognizing he had no chance against the creature at that time.
But now, he was no longer weak. She was no longer stronger than Severus's last challenge, and he had defeated Baran with relative ease and had even evolved after that. Dealing with this creature was even a bit fun for him, even though he still couldn't find the perfect opening to kill it once and for all, advancing through the forest trading blows until he found one, as when he managed to strike the creature's chest.
The forest began to be sliced apart, and as the trees fell, sunlight penetrated that area. At the same time, the creature couldn't touch the light, quickly retreating.
That was the reason it didn't go to other areas of the forest — because of the sunlight, which penetrated much more easily.
The creature tried to strike him upon seeing that he had nowhere to run with rocks in the area. At that moment, Severus drew his wand and vanished from the spot with shadow teleportation, reappearing behind the creature. Then, he switched his wand for his dagger again, stabbing both daggers into the creature.
"OOHHHH!!!" it roared, enraged, but Severus didn't stop.
He began to unleash lightning through his body via the daggers, which even seemed to increase in size, the body swelling as it discharged the lightning. The creature growled, trying to vanish again, but Severus was still there, launching lightning with one of the daggers embedded in its body.
For now, he held steady. Until he had to get out of there the next moment, as it was trying to strike him with its claws and would have succeeded if he hadn't backed off.
The creature vanished, but now it was no longer so invisible, with Severus landing a few meters away, looking at the dagger floating in the air, still emitting lightning.
He had left one of the daggers precisely as a marker, because that camouflage ability was so powerful it even confused him. If the creature started to flee, it would be a bit annoying to have to hunt it down.
In any case, the creature didn't run. It growled even more in its invisible form, and Severus could still feel it looking straight at him.
He looked at his only dagger in hand.
"She's too small to strike that creature and kill it in one blow." he said to himself.
Then he looked at his shadow.
"Can you lend me your sword?" he asked Igris.
A blue sword began to appear, handed to him by his knight. Severus placed it over his shoulder before it began to emit flashes and lightning.
The creature didn't hide. It reappeared, preparing to charge at him.
Severus saw it coming at him with everything it had, while he gripped the sword tightly, which emitted lightning like never before — just like Baran did.
The creature was already on top of him. In the next moment, everyone in the Forbidden Forest was surprised by the Juggernaut's screams, falling under a storm of lightning fired from that side of the forest.
The dark area, where shadows always reigned, now shone with lightning bolts shooting into the sky — and so it continued for several seconds, until everything finally calmed, though the echo still bounced against the mountains in the region.
Severus stood in a scorched area, with lightning still crackling through the air, while the Juggernaut fell — or at least, half of it — with its body split in two by Severus's attack. A red line marked the cut, burned by the heat of the lightning.
The other half of the monster remained standing for a few seconds before collapsing to the side. Severus handed the sword back to Igris, who reappeared in the next moment.
"We're done here," Severus said, as he approached the creature and raised his hand.
"Arise."
He murmured, and quickly that body split in two began to emit a dark aura, transforming into a shadow the next moment. It roared with its seven-meter height and slammed its fists into the ground, kneeling before Severus, recognizing him as its new master.
"Good... this is good," Severus remarked, satisfied with the creature.
It could basically destroy the magical world. It was a killer immune to this world's magic, since lightning had worked well against it, though it still had some resistance.
But it would truly be useful, capable of devastating thousands of wizards on a battlefield. However, it had one weakness: the sun. That made it a bit limited, but if used in the right places, it would be devastating.
Severus sent the Juggernaut back into his shadow along with the others and stood still, thinking about what he should do before making some decisions about finding Lily.
In the end, there was nothing more, and he had to wait for his shadows, standing still for two hours while he could feel wizards and centaurs watching the area, but too afraid to approach due to the fear of the creature Severus had slain.
It was then that a distortion in space appeared in front of him, and a small piece of paper began to fall. He narrowed his eyes and brought the paper to himself with telekinesis, seeing it was a letter from Vujin.
"I know where she is," the letter said — probably referring to Lily.
But Severus never opened it, for his gaze shifted in a certain direction. He had sensed one of his shadows announcing it had found the girl.
As his shadows spread at high speed across Britain, in two and a half hours they had already mapped 60% of the island, scouring every place — and finally, they found Lily.
Without saying another word, he simply vanished, while a shadow rose beneath where he had been, before sinking back into the ground and heading in the same direction Severus had taken.
All the other shadows began running there as well, to meet their king.
...
Lily certainly wasn't living the best moment of her life. She had been captured in her home. She was threatened along with her family: if she didn't surrender, they would all die.
She gave herself up, to keep them out of danger.
After that, they erased her consciousness. When she woke up, she was in a dark cell. She spent her first hours there touching her own hands, trembling.
She was nervous, and fear was what consumed her.
A house-elf appeared to feed her, then disappeared the next moment, without saying a word.
She tried to talk to him a few times, but he only shook his head before vanishing.
She remained there for a day until finally, someone visited her the next — while a group of men wearing skull masks appeared, dressed in black robes.
"So this is the mudblood?" they said, and she quickly cowered.
One of them pointed a wand.
"Hey, what are you doing?" one of them asked.
"Obviously, giving this mudblood what she deserves," he replied.
In the next moment, a green Cruciatus beam was fired, catching Lily by surprise. She felt a pain she had never felt before, screaming as she writhed. The man began to laugh, but his hand was stopped by another man in a skull mask.
"What are you doing? We need her alive. Do that after we kill Severus," he said, while the other angrily pulled his hand back.
"You're no fun. Fine, whatever. Let's wait to kill the one who dares to defy the Dark Lord," he muttered, while Lily was still writhing in pain, even after the spell had ceased. She screamed and cried.
Then, the six of them left, and she remained there for hours, until she finally began to regain control of her body, still trembling for a few seconds, feeling firsthand just how terrible the Torture Curse truly was.
A few hours later, the men returned. She trembled, having already shed all her tears, asking herself if she would die there, watching all her dreams collapse at the hands of those men.
She was taken. The house-elf levitated her into a large dark hall, in some kind of abandoned place. She was placed in a chair surrounded by magical circles, while the wizards worked on runes scattered across the entire space.
It didn't take an expert to understand what was happening there. They were preparing for Severus.
If he was even really coming for her. After all, he wasn't Severus, her childhood friend, with whom she'd shared a friendship for many years. He was a stranger to whom she had given her heart against her will, feeling countless emotions she had hoped to feel for someone special — someone she would fall in love with naturally.
She no longer even knew whom to blame for her current situation, or for the pain she had been enduring.
Several more hours passed. They were still working on the runes when, suddenly, an echo sounded throughout the hall, as if someone had just stepped in.
She looked with tired eyes, having barely slept on the floor of a cell, her lips bleeding after receiving a few slaps "for fun" from those men as they passed by her. They had simply left her to rot there.
Lily no longer had her beauty, with that worn-out appearance.
She stared at Severus before her with eyes hard to read. He looked at her, not much differently, but he seemed... guilty.
"Sorry about this. But now everything's going to be alright," he said.
