[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Durmstrang Institute.
...
...
Snape followed the Hogwarts students, guided by the students and people of that school, to a specific wing on the third floor of the Durmstrang Institute.
"Are you okay? You seem a little distracted...", Clarisse asked, beside Snape as they walked down the corridor.
"I think he got very interested in that painting," Pandora commented.
"I'm not going to lie, it's true," Snape commented without hesitation, due to the painting being a portal to a powerful dungeon.
"So you plan to win the tournament then? I doubt there's anyone who has more chances to win than you," Clarisse commented.
"We'll see," Snape said, while looking at his status appearing beside him in a system window. No one could defeat him, he had everything at a level no one had ever reached before, even more so since he had all his experience recorded as a warrior of the order within him.
Nothing could stop him.
Soon, they headed to the dormitory where there would be a room with four bunk beds, but maintaining the same sex to avoid problems with a bunch of teenagers in the prime of their youth.
The Durmstrang Institute was quite strict, as the students accompanied them checking if everything was in order, while the teachers would also be on the same floor.
"Good night, Snape," Pandora said cheerfully, while Snape nodded and Clarisse also greeted him.
Snape could also see Lily watching from afar as she headed into the dormitory along with the Gryffindor girls.
At the same time, he could see Potter, Black, and Lupin, who were the only ones registered for the tournament, while Pettigrew did not seem to have enough skill and was not selected. They looked at him with a look of disgust, but none uttered a word directly. Of course, behind their backs, they must have hated him, but that didn't bother him. Snape no longer cared about them either.
Thus, he entered, finding the youngest student there, none other than Regulus Black's brother, everything indicating the future head of the Black family, the most talented. As he arranged his things, he looked at Snape with a calculating look, as he always did.
They exchanged a silent nod as Snape moved toward the bed with a student waiting for him with some nervousness, while Regulus shared a bed with a Hufflepuff student.
The student was from Ravenclaw, seeing his cloak after removing the coat they used to get there, as it was not as cold inside as it was outside.
"Mr. Snape, you can choose whether you want to sleep on the bottom or the top," he said carefully, not wanting to suffer humiliation before Snape, given his reputation still standing strong at the school.
"You can choose for yourself, it doesn't matter to me," Snape replied calmly.
"Alright, I'll choose the bottom. You can have the top," he said carefully, while Snape nodded and went to organize his things in a trunk left for the top bed.
Snape took advantage of the fact that it was still a little early and opened a book to read, making an armchair in the middle of the room to pass the time there.
He stayed there for a while, until he lowered the book and looked at the boy staring at him.
"Tell me, Regulus Black, how can I help you?" Snape spoke with a cold gaze, staring at the fourth-year boy who had shown himself skilled enough to be among them.
"My parents and my grandmother sent me a letter about the recent events. I never had the opportunity to meet you, since you have teleportation to move even within Hogwarts. I wanted to know if we could exchange a few quick words," he asked.
It was obvious that the Black family would try to have Regulus get closer to him, especially now. Snape and Astraea, along with her husband, had a long conversation, and it seemed that the Black family had distanced themselves from Lord Voldemort.
Surely they would become a target, so they had no choice but to ally with Snape, even more so now, after the event that happened in the Muggle city where Snape managed to kill half of Voldemort's forces and even defeated him.
Snape had a very long conversation with Astraea Black after the events. The family wanted guidance on what they should do. He always said that they should keep the Dark Mark for now, as they would become Voldemort's targets much faster without it, but they also did not need to obey his summons, and Snape would be informed about it.
Astraea was with the family somewhat divided about this. Astraea's children did not seem very pleased to abruptly separate from Voldemort and were caught by surprise when the relationship reached that state, as they were loyal to the ideology, while Astraea wanted the family to survive.
"Speak, Mr. Black," Snape asked him to proceed.
"I wanted to know why my grandfather supports you so much. Is it true that you're going to marry my cousin? Have you been training already?" he asked.
"Marriage? Well, I haven't thought about that yet," Snape commented. "But anyway, your family doesn't seem to feel comfortable with Voldemort anymore. I would say we are more in favor of another force that has emerged, rather than him," Snape said calmly.
Meanwhile, the other students even listened to the conversation, holding their breath so as not to interrupt them, especially when Snape said the name of You-Know-Who, while even Regulus was stunned by Snape's ease in saying it.
Snape, however, didn't care about their reactions.
"I understand," Regulus nodded, while saying nothing else. But his gaze said a lot. He understood more than he showed.
In any case, Snape continued there, reading his book, until he decided to extinguish the candles and go to bed as everyone fell asleep.
It was only at the beginning of the night that he appeared in the middle of the room, putting on a black cloak hiding his face, as he began to walk.
"You know, it's rude to spy on others," Snape couldn't help but comment, passing by Regulus' and another student's bunk bed, while the youngest was awake, stunned to see Snape leaving like that, vanishing the next moment.
Snape quickly crossed the corridor with teleportation, seeing some Durmstrang Institute students with lit wands walking through the corridors, looking for any students trying to leave the dormitory.
He quickly jumped to the ceiling, while some pointed up thinking they had seen a shadow, but Snape ran across the ceiling like a breeze, without any sound.
He quickly found the stairs to a large hall, where there could be several Durmstrang students gathered.
"This number of students... They're breaking the rules too. Maybe it's time to use these abilities," he commented, while his body began to become invisible. He was gaining some abilities as he passed through the dungeons, and this was an interesting one he had recently received: invisibility.
Snape quickly passed by all the students, walking through the place calmly and preferring to act now with invisibility so no one would notice him.
And it would be useful, after all, even the portraits wouldn't notice him. As soon as he found some with portals, he saw they were taking a nap and was quickly sucked in and entered them, while the disturbance barely woke them up, with the paintings asking sleepily what was happening there but having no idea that a person had just entered their image.
Snape left the painting an hour later, still invisible, as he began to walk, with the painting asking once again what was happening there and why there were disturbances disrupting its sleep.
In any case, Snape continued passing from painting to painting, entering the portals described as fit to access the dungeons, and quickly destroying them within one to two hours, increasing his levels more and more, although he did not find any great challenge or even monsters that would interest him in adding to his army of shadows.
Thus, he continued, covering at least two entire floors, finding a total of more than three paintings.
He moved to another part of the castle, after sending his shadows to sweep the entire area, spreading out and camouflaging among the castle's shadows, passing unnoticed by everyone.
When they all returned, the shadows at Snape's feet already had information that could indicate any place in the castle where he might have an interest.
"Where is the painting that was presented in the main hall?" Snape asked, as a shadow emerged, starting to slide along the floor, and he followed it.
He moved into a lit room, entering invisibly and retracting the shadow.
There was the headmistress of the Durmstrang Institute, talking with another headmistress from School Y, while they seemed to be gossiping, known for it, as Snape noticed.
Behind them was also the painting, exchanging a few words with them.
Snape looked at the scene, but his eyes were fixed directly on the painting. It was still before dawn, and those women seemed to have spent the night talking and drinking.
'Should I go?' Snape thought, not ignoring his mission that wanted to take control of his actions: if he rushed toward the painting, he could enter without anyone noticing.
"Hey, someone's here!" suddenly the woman from the painting said, narrowing her eyes, looking toward the entrance without seeing anything, but at the same time, she knew someone was there. The two headmistresses quickly raised their eyebrows and grabbed their wands.
"Are you sure? Is a student spying on us?" one of the headmistresses murmured, pointing her wand and immediately using the Revelio spell, but Snape did not appear because of it.
"Yes, some brat is using some kind of invisibility. I can feel it. I don't know who you are, but it's rude to spy on others, and you can't fool me, I'm an ancient and powerful witch!" the woman in the painting said, as if giving a lecture.
Snape sighed, decided not to go forward with it, and simply turned away, disappearing from the place, while they still remained alert even after the woman commented that whoever was there had already disappeared.
Severus returned to his room and found everyone in their beds; he managed to sleep at least two hours before waking up to a knock on the door, with the teachers asking everyone to go to the main hall to eat together, as they were in a different school.
He got up quickly and followed the others, while Regulus stared at him, but Snape didn't care. The other students were unaware of his departure the previous night, yawning.
Snape went out and found Professor Flitwick and Professor Longbottom scolding James Potter for some reason, while Rosaria waited for him outside.
"What happened?" Snape commented, raising an eyebrow, while the Gryffindor students seemed to defend James.
"Some student left the room last night and tried to reach the award painting. All the teachers were informed, and it seems Mr. Potter has some item similar to invisibility. The teachers are demanding that he tell the truth," Rosaria explained.
"I see..." Snape shrugged, following the other Hogwarts students to the main hall.
