Chapter 144 - Chapter 144: Undead Attack

Nell, Cera and Racherna, Saya, Lois, Jasmine, Saeko and James arrived back in town.

"So what are we buying from here?" Jasmine asked.

"Food for everyone is one thing," Lois responded.

"Should we head back to the stalls we visited yesterday, Danna-sama?" Saeko asked.

"I liked that food there," Jasmine responded.

"I wonder what else they have there?" Cera asked.

At that moment a woman came rushing out from an alley. "Get away," she was screaming as she ran away.

"What is going on?" Nell asked.

Then they saw a man with short hair, dressed in a loose-fitting shirt and pants, holding a knife in their right hand with the blade pointing downward. His left arm was bent, with the hand partially visible. His mouth was open. His eyes were bloodshot. "Graawwhh," he shouted.

"A zombie," Jasmine said.

"They are here as well," Lois added.

"Undead," Nell said. She gritted her teeth.

Saeko rushed forward. She swung her blade as she sliced cleanly through the zombie`s neck. His head went flying into the air and crashed into the ground. She had a twisted smile.

"Good job Saeko," James said.

Nell came running towards the zombie. "Be careful it might not be dead," Nell said. However she looked closely and it was. "He is dead," she added.

"We did take his head off," Racherna responded.

"But usually the undead don't stay down without holy magic," Nell said.

"Interesting," Saya responded. "These ones are different from the ones we were facing," she added.

"I think so as well," Saeko agreed. "Their eyes are different," she added.

"I need to go and help everyone," Nell said.

"Okay, girls go with Nell and help her out," James said.

"Where will you go?" Jasmine asked.

"I will go and take out their boss. Someone is pulling their strings," James said.

He opened the faceplate. He saw the silhouette of a large dragon. It had large, imposing horns. A huge body with massive wings. It was positioned on all fours. "Next time," James muttered to himself. He turned the faceplate to see the silhouette of a tall man. He had a coat and a cane in one hand. His hair was long. He smiled and slammed it down.

His body was engulfed in a brilliant, pulsating light. The air crackled with energy. James' body distorted slightly . In a surge of radiant energy, James` features reshape. He grew long silver hair, braided but threaded with green streaks. His hair nearly brushed the ground, leaving faint emerald wisps in the air. His eyes glowed red with a sharp green core. He wore a black and purple gothic long coat. It had a green neon circuitry running along the lapels and back. The inner lining shimmered green. In one hand, he held a black and green energy-forged cane.

His high-low coat parted at the front, revealing a sleek armor-like underlayer. He wore black and green striped pants. He had sleek, pointed boots and had black gloves. The Ultimatrix symbol was on his choker. "Ghost King," Ghost King said.

"Wow," Jasmine remarked.

"A new one," Lois added.

"This is a Hel," Ghost King responded. "They are usually female but I male," he added.

"Clearly," Saya said.

"Master," Cera added.

"Do you need help Danna-sama?" Saeko said.

"No I can handle them," Ghost King responded. "Keep with Nell and help her out," he added. Ghost King bent his leg and jumped into the sky.

"He can jump far," Jasmine said. She thought back to the time where they met on the rooftops.

"So what should we do, Nell?" Racherna asked.

"Let's go and help everyone out," Nell said. "There is a church so we should help there," she added.

"Sure," Lois responded. They moved forward.

"There are more coming," Jasmine said as she looked at the undead approaching them.

Saya fired her Ray Gun, humming as it unleashed powerful red beams. The rays struck the undead on the chest and made a large hole. The undead let out a huge pool of blood and fell to the ground.

"Good shot Saya," Lois remarked.

"Thank," Saya responded. At that moment, two undead came from the corner.

Jasmine aimed her Red Hawk and fired the pistol twice. Two bullets left the chamber and hit the undead. One of the undead got hit in the head while the other got hit in the neck. They both went down.

Then they saw a child on the ground, crying. It was trying to get away from an undead approaching her. "Mummy," she shouted.

Cera charged ahead. She drew Custodire, the blade glinting in the light. She went to undead and cut through him with ease. His body was sliced and he collapsed to the ground. Cera thought she was trained to protect. She looked at the child and smiled.

"You are safe," Cera said.

The child had a bright smile on her face. "Thank you," she shouted. The child saw another undead coming towards them. "Behind you," she shouted.

Cera saw the undead at the last minute. She did not have time to strike.

Jasmine got her Lasso of Submission up. She twirled it around, like a cowboy and threw on the undead and pulled it away. At that moment, Lois aimed her M4W. She pressed the trigger and shot the undead in the head. The bullet came through the other side and it collapsed to the ground.

"Thank you," Cera said.

"Teamwork," Jasmine said.

"We look after each other," Lois added.

Racherna used her eight legs and went forward. She swung her double-headed axe in a brutal arc. The heavy steel carved through the air with a hiss before biting deep into the undead`s rotting flesh, cleaving it apart in a spray of decay. The creature lurched, its hollow eyes flickering with the last remnants of unnatural life before crumbling beneath the force of the blow.

Racherna thought this felt natural. She thought there was something about her weapon.

Nell was swinging her sword. She stabbed an undead in the chest. She took the blade out. "Turn Dead," Nell said as she raised her hand. A white glow appeared on her hand. The undead started to glow. The undead started to jerk and went down.

Saya looked at the magic. She thought it could fight the undead or zombies.

At that moment, an undead charged towards Nell. Lois aimed her M4W and fired a single bullet. The bullet travelled through the air and hit the undead in the head. There was some blood which left his skull and he dropped to the ground.

"Does that drain you?" Lois asked.

"I am okay," Nell responded. She smiled. They were with her. "The church is up there," Nell pointed at. They looked to see soldiers fighting the undead off while people were running back.
