"They're not really human, are they?"
Mo Shangjun, shedding her usual flamboyance and casual demeanor, lowered her gaze slightly. Her voice was soft, yet it carried clearly to Ding Jing's ears in the wind.
Each word was distinct.
In Mo Shangjun's eyes, Ding Jing saw seriousness. Those dark eyes, far from being shrouded by the night's shadow, shone even brighter, as if harboring the vast cosmos.
Mo Shangjun noticed Ding Jing's momentary daze, then saw her lips curl slightly, a fleeting, almost invisible smile.
But the indescribable emotion that enveloped her dissipated as well.
Retracting her posture, Ding Jing looked at Mo Shangjun with interest.
Then, getting up from the ground, she stuffed her hands into her pants pockets, turned her head slightly towards Mo Shangjun, and emphasized, "I really am going for a walk."
"Oh." Mo Shangjun responded blandly, her eyebrows shifting slightly. After a pause, she added, "I won't see you off."
