After a full day of journeying, when An Yiqing led everyone into the deepest part of the mountain cave, they all stopped in their tracks and looked towards the stone steps ahead.
On the steps sat a black iron box. An Yiqing used her Clairvoyant Eye to look inside, and the box contained the Deed of Land Transfer that Cha Chai mentioned. Beside the box on the ground lay two skeletal remains. An Yiqing walked over and touched the clothing on the bones, still quite new.
"In summer, it takes half a month to a month for an exposed corpse to turn into bones. The clothes on these skeletons are still new, not eroded by the air. They must have died a little over a month ago; if my guess is correct, they were Cha Chai's subordinates."
These two people delivered the box to its destination and were starving and faint. One developed a malicious intent to kill the other, eat their flesh to fill their stomach, and escape. Amid their fight, they killed each other, both dying in the process.
