"Yes."
Yao Beikun hung up the phone and turned to look at Ali, who was staring straight at him.
Though nestled in his embrace, there was a sense of distance.
"What's wrong?" Yao Beikun asked her, "Don't you trust me?!"
"Master Kun." Ali bit her lip, her eyes steady but pausing, as if suppressing something. She said, "Can't you follow what Wen Hao suggested first? Shanghai is so big, finding someone isn't easy."
"Ali, I've told you I can bring your sister back safe and sound, and I will. You just need to wait for my good news."
"Master Kun, isn't the safest way to do as Wen Hao suggested?"
"Why should I choose the safest way?"
"But I don't want my sister to take any risks." Ali was straightforward.
Yao Beikun's expression seemed to change. "Ali, you're usually not this unreasonable!"
Meaning she's usually not so confrontational with him.
"That's my sister. I can't just watch her be in danger."
