"Saki… Wake up," Kiyomi shook her wife gently hours later.
The surgery had taken around thirty hours, and she had sat through it all. She should have scrubbed in; she knew it, too. But this was something she could not lean into, not with Sakura here.
She couldn't leave her alone, and maybe Kiyomi was failing at her role.
But Sakura Watanabe was always going to be important.
"Five more minutes," Sakura mumbled as she pressed her nose closer to Kiyomi's scent gland, drinking the good doctor's scent like a hungry woman.
"If you don't wake up soon, you won't get to go home with me and sleep in my bed," Kiyomi whispered and Sakura Watanabe had never sat upright that fast.
She still looked sleepy as hell, something that Kiyomi had noticed. And it had her wondering when the fuck Sakura had last had good sleep.
This woman looked so worn out that, for a moment, Kiyomi considered portaling back to her apartment instead of going to check on the others.
