"What about Elif?" Sakura asked calmly.
She knew this was a really important decision for Kiyomi, and her best friend would definitely have wanted to be there. It wasn't even rocket science at this point anymore, and Sakura wanted her to be happy.
Elif made Kiyomi happy.
Elif made her want to be a better person, and regardless of how things turned out for them, Elif had always been there. She was an integral part of Kiyomi's life, so it made no sense, really, that they had come to this point.
Maybe that was why Sakura asked the question carefully. Why she treaded like she was on thin ice, she knew betrayal was not something that Kiyomi would forgive with ease, but then this was something important.
It could be a bit unhinged for Elif not to be a part of it.

"She doesn't have to be a part of this," Kiyomi said, her tone clipped.
