Robin sat facing the bewildered forms of Cricket, Masira and Shoujou. They had been trying and filing to process the information that she had just told them for a few minutes now.
Finally, Cricket spoke up. "So, what you're saying is: 1. My ancestor wasn't lying and the city of gold truly exists. 2. The city of gold didn't sink into the sea but was blasted into the sky by an ancient Nock up stream. 3. The descendants of the people Nolan befriended have been waiting for a descendant like myself to come to their home so that they could fulfill an ancient promise. And finally, 4. Your captain wants to take me up to said sky island in order to complete said promise and make it easier for him to set up a base there?" he finished speaking with an expression of barely concealed suspicion.
Before she could respond the door to the house creaked open.
"That's exactly what we're saying." I said stepping through the threshold into the house.
The three men turned to get a look at me and eyed me with the same suspicion as they did with Robin.
"Though I will admit this isn't really a request. You're going to the Golden city. it's just a matter of whether or not you want to be in chains or not." I finished speaking and punctuated my sentence by using one of my newly acquired rings to sprout a few chains from my hand and hover around threateningly.
I didn't really need him but if I brought Cricket and helped fulfill the ancient promise that would make relations with the Shandia go much smoother. The treat was quite literally just what I said it was. He was going whether he liked it or not but if he agreed willingly I'd try to make him as comfortable as possible.
Simply subjugating them would be laughably easy for me but unlike some people (Cough! Cultivators Cough!) I didn't particularly like the idea of taking over an island and basically enslaving people.
Slaughtering people that kill people for fun or because they simply think they're better than others? No problem. But I had at least some standards.
Cricket and his companions froze up at my threat, but they quickly relented. They were tough but they knew that they didn't stand a chance against an able user like myself even if they didn't know my true ability.
"Can I at least ask who you are? Your friend here didn't tell us much about you." Cricket asked, gesturing to Robin.
I raised an eyebrow at Robin who answered it with only her usual sly smile.
I sighed and retracted the chains. "My name is Carter Davil. And I'm currently using my position as a Marine to cover for the creation of my own organization. I just want to set up a base somewhere out of the grasp of the World WorldGovernment and you are someone that can make that go better then if I tried it on my own.
Once we get to the Sky island and I introduce you to the descendants of Nolan's friends you can choose what you want to do from there."
Cricket turned towards his two companions and they had a small discussion.
After a few moments they agreed to come with us willingly. "I've been searching for the Golden city for years. If you can bring me to it I'd be just fine with me."
I nodded and Robin grinned. "Alright let's get moving." I said walking back towards the door. "You've got an hour to gather whatever it is that you want to take with you. After that we're heading up."
As Cricket and the other two flew into action gathering whatever they needed from their home, I walked outside and stood by Justice who had been pouting about how long it was taking to get going.
"Just another hour Justice, then we can go." I reassured the dragon.
Justice let out an annoyed huff and turned away.
I sighed in exasperation.
"She must want to reach sky island an awful lot if she is this upset over an hour's delay." Robin's ever collected voice came from behind us.
I just kept looking at the pouting lizard in front of me. "Yeah, she wants to fight the current leader of the sky islanders. He's the current user of the Goro Goro no mi."
Robin's eyes widened. "The lightning Logia? It is said to be one of the invisible devil fruits is it not? Why would she want to face such a powerful enemy?"
The chain of questions didn't faze me at all. "I never explained just what Justice is, did I?" I asked, looking toward the archeologist.
Robin tilted her head in thought. "No you didn't."
"Well then allow me to correct that.
Justice is a hybrid of a variety of different dragons from two different worlds." I began my explanation of Justice's heritage while she listened intently.
"From one world she has the attributes of the Nightwing, Skywing, and Sandwing dragon tribes. These dragons give her her body's general strength, her mind reading, flame breath, her larger pair of wings, and finally the venom in her stingers.
From the other world she has the power of the Death Song, Razorwhip, Triple Strike, and Skrill dragons. These manifest as her frills and ability to spit amber, Her metallic launchible venomous spines, her three tails and finally…"
Robin now eyes me with much greater interest.
"From the skrill she gained the metallic spikes on her back, and the ability to generate, absorb, release, and travel on lightning."
Her eyes widened slightly. "So she wishes to fight the lighting user?"
"Exactly," I said. "She wants to prove who the stronger lightning user is. And honestly? I think she can beat him."
Sure Enel had a powerful gift for observation haki that was bolstered even further by his devi fruit but Justice had an edge that no one could compete with. Her mind reading. Enel coils predict her attack all he wanted, Justice could see the action he planned to take while he was thinking it and change accordingly.
There was also the absolutely awesome fact that she had only made known to me on the flight from Arabasta to Jaya.
Justice had learned armament haki. Meaning she was not only now immune to his lightning vie har skrill heritage's insulated hide and conductive spines but she could now physically harm Enel with her claws, teeth and stingers.
"Well then I look forward to seeing the flight. I will be rooting for you Justice" Robin said, patting the dragon on the head.
Justice let out a thankful trill before making a smug sounding grumble and shooting me a look that most likely translated to something along the lines of "this is my new favorite human. Deal with it."
I rolled my eyes and walked over to a nearby tree. I took a seat and opened up my inventory. More specifically I took a look at the newest item I had received from another world. The Mothra scale.
'System, give me a more detailed analysis of the mother scale'
It was part of a freaking Kaiju! It had to have something worthwhile to contribute.
Finally, I heard the system ding.

Analysis shows the scale possesses multiple beneficial properties
-Healing Radiation: unlike normal radiation the radiation given off by this scale is capable of healing injuries.
-Radiation Reflection: data shows these scales were capable of reflecting radiation beams generated by individual: Godzilla Earth.
-Electromagnetic Disruption: data shows these scales were capable of interfering with and nullifying the electromagnetic field created by individual: Godzilla Earth.
-Mothra Monster factor: within this scale is the "monster factor" of Mothra. Data shows that exposure to this factor over millennia caused a branch of the human race to evolve into the human subspecies known as the Houtua tribe. This factor granted the Houtua the same telepathic power possessed by Mothra herself. With this factor the cloning of the kaiju is possible.]
I stared at the blue screen.
"Holy shit."
There wasn't really much else to say. I now held the key to creating a fucking kaiju in my hand.
"Awsome"
I hadn't ever watched the anigoji movies because the godzilla fandom had basically declared them a taboo because of how badly they sucked. The thing I found interesting about his scale was the monster factor it contained.
I took the scale in my hands and snapped it in half. "Well, it worked for the hashirama cells and the sharingan. And the system confirmed Mothra's factor was compatible with humans since the Hotua exist in that universe. Here goes nothing."
I pulled my shirt down and held half of the scale up to my bare chest. Then I activated my devil fruit.
And then regretted it immediately.
'FUCK!'
I won't lie. It hurt like hell. The only reason I didn't scream bloody murder was due to [ Perfect emotional control]
It felt like pouring molten metal into my veins while stabbing every nerve in my body with a red hot needle.
I guess it makes sense incorporating the genetics of a giant moth kaiju would be different than incorporating the genetics of humans even if they had alien ancestry.
When the pain finally stopped I let out a massive sigh. 'That could have been worse I guess.'
I sat there contemplating my decisions for a few seconds before the system dinged

I activate the skill and look right at Justice who is still pouting in the corner. Robin had moved away and was now reading a book she had taken from cricket's home. Noland's logbook if I remembered correctly.
With a thought I activated my newly acquired skill. ""Oi, Justice.""
""Ugh, great, what does he want now?"" the voice of my dragon friend echoed in my head for the first time.
It was strange, but not in a bad way.
Seemingly completely unaware of what I was doing she turned to face with an expression that just read as 'what do you want?'
""Stupid boss. Got me all excited to fight that long eared idiot then keeps making me wait. I just want to prove my lightning is better! Is that too much to ask?""
""Well you won't have to wait much longer. "" I sent the response directly into her head. She froze solid. Her entire frame locked up in an instant.
""B-boss? Are you-? Are you speaking with thought right now?"" She stared at my mouth that hadn't opened despite her having clearly heard my voice.
""Yep,"" I flashed her a smile. ""Now we can really talk.""
She stared at me for a moment. Then to my surprise she lunges at me. ""Boss!"" Her voice echoed in my head as she attempted to bury her shout in my chest but since her head was now the size of my chest it didn't really work.
""You can hear me! There's so much I've wanted to tell you!""
"Well, now we have all the time in the world to talk." I said, patting her head. "But it seems your wait is over."
Cricket and his companions had finished gathering everything they needed.
"Alright let's get going." I said.
Justice immediately let down one of her wings so that we could all climb onto her back.
""C'mon! Let go, let's go! ""
Robin took note of Justice's renewed energy and raised her eyebrow at me.
"She seems even more excited than I imagined. Did something happen just now when she pounced on you?"
"Yep," I said. "Just got a brand new ability, and it's one that makes Justice real happy."
She looked taken aback for a moment but then her lips quirked up into a curious grin "Is that so? What ability did you get this time? Something from another world or something local?" She all but bombarded me with questions.
"Something from another world" I reached out with my mind.
""Telepathy""
Robin visibly flinched when my voice suddenly appeared in her head but she recovered quickly.
"My, my. Isn't that interesting?"
"Yes it is."
A moment later I had all of crickets' belongings stored in my inventory.
"It's really happening huh? We're going to see the city of gold!" Masira exclaimed cheerfully, to which Shoujou joined in with a happy cheer.
"Oh pipe down you two." Cricket scolded them. "We have to show some respect! These guys were kind enough to come all the way here to get us before going to the sky island."
"Eh? But boss, they said they'd be kidnapping us if we refused to go. Didn't they?" Shoujou asked looking towards Masira for confirmation. Masira nodded in reply but Cricket simply pretend like he hadn't heard them.
"Doesn't matter! Quit screwing around and get on the nice dragon's back!"
""Yes sir!"" They shot up in a panic and followed after Cricket towards Justice.
Robin glanced at me as we looked at the interaction.
"They're certainly lively aren't they?"
"You can say that again." I continued watching them move towards the eagerly awaiting dragon.
"Alright, Lets do this"
