The invasion needed thousands of people to keep every captured bridge, camp, and gate useful.
It needed thousands more to search a country.
New participants still entered the gate in the distant city. They followed six days of maps to a war other people had carried most of the way. Some stayed to protect the route. Others crossed into Corathen with flying mounts, divination tools, fast horses, or spells chosen for distance instead of combat.
Kale divided the search into regions.
