He closed his eyes; a beast tried to bite his leg, but after a few seconds, it suddenly stopped and looked towards his face. Due to all this, all the other beasts closed the gap between them and surrounded him.
"Not this time," he muttered, "not again." "I will not leave you behind AGAIN!!" His voice only increased with time. The air around him started to move; slow wind currents soon transformed into a strong wind. This was only the start; the air around him started to shake violently, resonating with his energy.
"I am done." He paused briefly and a memory flashed in his mind. "Carciyan—" His energy suddenly started to calm down; he looked around and started to make his way forward.
He killed two more beasts and tried to move, but their spots were quickly taken over by other beasts.
"Just get away," he muttered. His hands were moving swiftly, but his eyes and mind were trying to peek at his friend's condition.
"This is bad." He looked towards his wound, which opened more due to this fight. His stomach was bleeding, and his clothes, drenched in blood, stuck to his wounds.
Even the simplest movement started to make the situation worse for him.
Using his sword tip, he tore the cloth covering his upper body, freeing himself from the constant, stinging pain while trying to dodge incoming attacks. He wrapped that cloth around one of his arms and then charged his energy.
"Ok, eat this!" He roared a bright energy slash. The energy slash moved across several layers of beasts, and he charged several attacks in all directions.
This gave him a brief moment; he unwrapped the cloth and tried to tie it around his legs, but the beasts charged towards him.
He started hopping on one of his legs. He moved three steps back and then bent back to dodge a bite from one of the beasts. His stomach wound spilled a lot of blood, but he didn't have time to react. Ignoring his pain, he quickly stabbed his blade into the ground for support.
He saw around him with his inverted view and then jumped. His jump made him go upside down, his legs making an arc, and then he landed or crashed on his chest.
"Ok, now what?" he muttered, trying to stand. "Grawwwwhh!!" the beasts roared and tried to bite him; he rolled across the area. An attack struck in front of him; he stopped and saw a beast's leg crush the ground in front of him. He gulped his saliva and then tried to move back, but his path was blocked by other beasts.
The beasts continuously tried to take a bite of his flesh, but he rolled across, trying to dodge the attacks and tie his wounds. The force used by him started to crack the ground below, but fortunately, the ground was not filled with stone.
After rolling for a few minutes, he finished tying his wound. He looked towards the beasts, who attacked him from all directions at once.
He looked towards the approaching attacks and then dragged his blade across. His blade sliced the legs of the beasts; in pain, the beasts collapsed to the ground. He pulled the closest beast towards him and used it as a shield while trying to stand.
The beast tried to bite his head but could not reach him as he lifted it by its back. He stood his ground and then threw it onto the other beasts.
He used this time to get ready for the fight.
"Ok, I am..." His words ached in his mouth. His eyes saw a flickering image which stopped his heart for a few seconds, and the pain was so strong he fell to his knees.
"Tlenion, NOOOO!!!" he cried, his arms extended towards his friend, whose flesh was being pulled in front of him.
His legs lost their strength at once, and he fell to his knees.
"Why? Why? WHYYYY!!!!" he roared, beating the ground; his hands started to bleed, but he didn't stop.
"WHYYYYY!!" He roared, and the wind moved away from him. "I will... I will..." he started muttering; his eyes' light started to fade and turn darker. His glow, which had lit the surroundings, started to make the surroundings darker.
"I am done..." He shouted, "You beasts... You... You have... Have sensed our... our fear and... and now..." He tried to talk while the beasts were pressing their feet onto his back.
His eyes turned a dark bluish-green; he opened his eyes, and then the noise of 10 to 15 objects falling could be heard. He tried to stand, his body aching in pain, but his heart was broken to the core.
"If only I.... If only I had taken this decision earlier...." He took a deep breath and then muttered, "Sorry Grandpa, I cannot fulfill your promise."
A memory flashed in front of him: "No matter what, Carciyan, don't." He shook his head, trying to stop that memory. He looked towards his blade, whose energy started to fade away.
"Ok, then, is this it?" He moved his finger across his blade, which turned back to normal—just an old, rusty artifact.
"So why do we fight now, then? Tlenion is dead; a few of them might have survived or maybe were eaten by beasts, and as for them..." He paused and then continued, "They might hold on, but for how long?" He took a deep breath and saw the beasts looking at him in confusion and trying to poke him.
He didn't respond, but the force pushed him; his face touched the ground. His mind was completely blank, just breathing lifelessly.
Beasts tried to poke him; some pressed his body with their legs. Some of them started to pull his flesh apart, but nothing worked.
He lost all desire to fight and stayed there, breathing but not living.
